Apparently he could play in the qualifier and still play for another club in the group stages. Not entirely sure how accurate that is as these sort of rules change every season. If he plays for us and we get knocked out, then he can play for another team. If he plays for us and we get to the Group stages, then he can't play for anyone else. Same goes for Cillissen at Ajax, he played in the qualifying matches but they were knocked out, so if we sign him he can play for us...
