No. We did plan. That was pretty obvious. We just had a bad plan. And Fergies midfield plan was for the liked of Pogba to play a major part. Again, due to bad planning we lost him.
Nah we planned fck all in both cases. As for Pogba yeh he should have realised he was going to play a major part as he sat on the bench watching Rafael starting in midfield. Fergie let the midfield slide. God knows what his reason was but he let it go.
I think Fergie would have gone a year earlier had we not lost the league. That way he would have left enough of a team for someone to take over and enough money to tweak it. I think he purposely didn't spend money for the last three years because he didn't want to leave a new manager with players on long contracts that he might not want.
Yeh that's why I questioned what his reasons were. It's either that or he didnt have the funds but that's unlikely. I'm just waiting for LVG to say we've concluded our business for the summer followed by "there's no value in the market"
I think the big clue came during the press conference today when LVG said we will be trying to buy players right up until the end of the window. To me that confirms that we are waiting until Adidas take over from Nike on 1st August before the major signings are announced.
We need to spend big this summer to catch up with Chelsea AND overtake them. I think it should be around £150m. No point having just a competitive team and squad. We want a title winning and CL challenging one. This means getting 3-4 truly world class players.
Aye. That striker is the priority. We need someone to put away the chances against the stubborn massed defences. An Andy Cole, Sheringham, Yorke, RVN or RVP. Falcao on paper fitted that bill perfectly. ****ing shame it was just on paper.
James Robson ✔@JamesRobsonMEN Antalyaspor confirm talks with United goalkeeper Victor Valdes 12:38 AM - 11 Jul 2015 What the actual fck??!!
Maybe hes seen that De Gea won't be going and doesnt want to play second fiddle this late in his career.
Antalyspor though mate? He could do better surely. Unless it's about money + appearances. Strange story
There is no doubt that the PL is a much more competitive league than La Liga. The recent improvement by Athletico Madrid aside, for many years La Liga has been as predictable as the Scottish Celtic/Rangers/Celtic/Rangers/Celtic etc etc ..... It might just be possible that De Gea has seen all of the new signings (particularly if we can bag his international team mate Ramos as well) and is thinking that this is the club to be at if he wants to really challenge himself. I have said before, we haven't been at all active (even in terms of rumours) when it came to looking for a new keeper and now I think De Gea will stay
More news.... According to Spanish paper AS Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is convinced the Argentine international, Otamendi (who has a release clause of £35m) has already agreed a move to Manchester United. Perez is now setting his sights on Garay instead.
