The concern is that Valdes could be considered an acceptable replacement for De Gea. I don't think he is.
I fear we could have too much hair and that will cause a problem in the dressing room. Competition for the mirror will be high and some players will want one of their own, I cant see LvG doing that
But paying more for unproven kids is better? I think not. Also, nobody does swap deals. Theres been one of any note in the past decade. It was a disaster. Clubs dont do swaps.
I'm not saying we shouldn't pay the 28.6, I'm just saying we shouldn't allow Madrid to get anymore out of us. 28.6 looks a fair price for all party's, particularly as Ramos is unhappy there, and only has maybe 2-4 years left at his peak. It's not often that 2 clubs find themselves in this situation where De Gea wants to go to them, and Ramos wants to come to us, that's why swap deals are rare. But in this situation it would make a lot of sense. I would obviously rather we held onto De Gea aswell, but you have to let players go if they want to leave
Ahhh the excitement must be etched on the face of all us United fans as we countdown the remaining 4 hours 21 minutes and 17 seconds until the transfer window opens and United start naming all those transfers we've signed. Just thinking about the talent that Woodward and LVG have lured to our club through meticulous planning - that has remained hidden from the whole world and will finally be unveiled to the masses. Enjoy everyone!
More fuel to the Ramos transfer fire. This time it seems the demand for a move has been reported in the Spanish papers http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...lls-Real-Madrid-he-is-determined-to-quit.html Probably now just a case of the fat waiter not wanting to sell him to us.
"Manchester United are a understood to be the only potential destination for Ramos after Florentino Perez insisted he would only allow Ramos to leave for the Premier League Club." What Custard said
Ramos coming to United at whatever price would be good (if only for the morale and prestige) but I would like to get a world class forward. De Gea may well go but United should stick to its guns. It will be a blow to Madrid if they didn't get DG and it is all win-win for United now.
Anybody else heard the theory that we aren't signing players yet because Adidas want them to be introduced in the new kit (Aug 1st)?
I can see that being the case with so-called marquee signings (Ramos etc) but I think the club will have to have done the actual business long before then. The sporting press will go into meltdown if we haven't signed anyone before 1st August.
Desperate straw clutching for our lack of planning. The reason we havent signed anyone is bcos we have the gay one out of Rod, Jane and Freddy in charge of signings. please log in to view this image
Maybe we are negotiating on various fronts and transfers dont actual work like Football manager makes out?
