One of the security guards (Fred) is a mate of my neighbour's cousin. He told the players that they mustn't worry, he promised that they would sign more players than Arsenal do this summer. And he warned them to watch what they say on social media sites, especially Not606. They were encouraged to create fake identities that no one would suspect were really United players, so saying that they were from overseas countries was mooted as being a good idea, as it was already being used by a few players. Although one of those players (who I won't unmask) was roundly mocked for going a step too far and claiming to be a LA Galaxy supporter! LA GALAXY!!!
i still prefer Fellaini over him, but he will be certainly strengthen our side too heard that Alonso is out for 3 months, which may force Real to keep him at least till January
Steven Gerrard: "I hate Liverpool, I am actually an Everton supporter and my biggest wish is to play as a central defender for Stoke City." [kgvjkdbkwnfd.hr]
He was last seen holding hands with Walter Bishop. Post in the SG appreciation thread as you're more likely to get a response there
£35M bid for Everton duo http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...5m-joint-bid-for-fellaini-baines?ICID=HP_HN_1
"United's offer values Fellaini at less than the £23.5m release clause that expired in July but sources have told Goal that the Old Trafford club have set a £20m ceiling for the 25-year-old and that there is no room for manoeuvre." If that's true I guess we aren't getting Fellaini then. Also shows that Moyes had nothing to do with the low first offer, if his hands are tied by the board. Does make me wonder if the board are taking a wait and see approach to this first season, basically wanting to see how the team performs under Moyes before giving him significant funds to invest. SAF would be almost certain to win the league with this Utd squad, so it's possible the board thinks it's not worth spending big money as there's a chance Moyes could also win the league without needing to strengthen.
But then that's all we've needed for the past five years. Hasn't stopped us from competing for every league title since, and winning most of them, so why risk getting a player who won't fit with the current squad and may disrupt a winning formula just for the sake of buying someone? We don't want an Aquilani, Torres or Carroll style situation where we end up overpaying for a player who isn't what we need, and hurts the balance of the squad, just because we wanted to buy someone. It will almost certainly be easier to bring in a top quality player next summer, and Moyes will have had more time to work with the squad so it will be more obvious what we actually need.
While there is still time to recruit, I'm increasingly of the opinion we won't sign anyone this window. Don't blame DM but rather the board. While i agree we don't want a hurried panic signing, we do need CMs and someone in the board needs a good slap. If Spurs can sign a player like Paulinho for about £18m wY can't we?
