Welcome aboard mate. Very interesting blog that got me thinking. If i see you at anytime in the future i'll definately come and say hello. Funny thing was that a few of us got refused enterance to a pub in Newcastle last week 'cos 1 of the group was wearing trainers....what the f### he would of said to you beggars belief .
Probably would have been just as fussy with me. Bouncers often feel they have to be seen to be doing something so as to keep their job, so they'll find that something, whatever it takes. Once you get inside very few bar staff would even consider making a fuss. Why would they anyway? Think about all the accidents that can occur in various kinds of open toed shoes, flip flops, high heels. If they started down that route they'd be guaranteeing the safety of any person wearing something they hadn't banned. The sensible approach, and most places realise this is just to advise people to be careful, regardless of what they're wearing. It's common sense really.
That's a good read saxbend. Like your ideas for overhauling the game and having a proper redistribution of the Sky lucre. The problem of course is the football authorities, here and elsewhere, are accountable to no one and therefore a law unto themselves. Until this ends the money will continue to go on stupidly large houses in Cheshire, tacky weddings and fantasy cars. Still I bet the lunches at Lancaster Gate and Gloucester Place are fairly spectacular.
