OK My apologies Mr R A as you have obviously supported Sunderland thru a bit of thick and mostly thin as all Sunderland supportes have. PS I never heard the word toon until 1992.

Well I'm Co. Durham, born & bred & no way do I consider myself a Geordie because I'm not.
Furthermore, I hate it when on holiday & ****ers assume I am one because of my accent.

It's like calling some ****er from Southampton say, a Cockney.

That's fine Billy I was just pointing out that back in the 60's, 70's and 80's when I was growing up anyone from the NE was a Geordie not just folk from Newcastle. You can class yourself what you like marra.

Nee Bother mate, it just gets on my tits that the rest of the country assumes that the north east starts at Gateshead & ends at Gosforth, <ok>.

I am not, never was & never will be a Geordie.

I've shagged a few, fell in love with one & fought with loads but will never be one nor will I ever want to be.

I got that a lot when i lived in Ireland, but as I'm a Newcastle fan it didn't bother me - I would just say "I'm not a proper Geordie, I'm from County Durham" - didn't tend to mean much to them 'cause they were usually steaming anyway
