Half agree with you there. Given our setup, even without having to replace Wilson, we didn't have the subs to carry on the same way anyway. I'm not a fan on 4-5-1 at home to start with, but if Adam has a bad game, like on Saturday, who do we replace him with? At the time we had N'Zonzi and Whitehead on, Palacios on the bench, none of whom really fill the CAM role Adam was playing. So given the options, I think Owen was the right choice, I think he'd do a good job of linking between Crouch and the rest of midfield. I think his job should be to just drift across the edge of the box, from which he can either step in and get a shot off, thread it into Crouchie, or spread it out to one of the wingers. The biggest disappointment from the match was Wilson's injury though, I can see us getting through the same as Saturday, with Wilko at LB, Cameron RB, but we've got no cover. We could recall Higgy, or play Ness (is he match fit?) but I'd prefer if we could have Wilson there!!
Isn`t Edu left footed?Could he play left -back ? If Crouch got injured who would we have as a target man, surely not that yard -dog Jones ! I can`t for the life of me see why Jerome doesn`t get a chance up front, instead he`s trying to loan him out to Blackburn.I know it`s a terrible thing to say but I find myself hoping Walters will pick up a slight injury just to force TP to try someone else. None of us dislike Walters `cos the lad tries his heart out but for goodness sake why doesn`t he just give him a rest ,if only to re-vitalise him! He should start Owen, and when he tires ,even if it`s only after half an hour, then replace him. Whinge over ,for now!!
Joe Totally agree with all you have said, with TP in charge we all may as well do this.. Sometimes some of our ~ SQUAD must be doing so too!
