Afternoon all. I can honestly say that I am absolutely ****ing dreading Saturday. Thankfully it’s my sister in law’s birthday so we’re in London walking along the Southbank Bank taking in the Christmas market eating and drinking so I’ll be spared the pain of watching.

Things are pretty whacky at the moment due to the problems at Leeds and the problems the 49ers now have. There are whack and even more whacky stories floating around especially on the January window. One that’s been doing the rounds since the weekend many of you will have heard of is Connor Galagher and yes Leeds have spoken to Athletico and yes Gallagher wants to leave as he wants to play but don’t think he will be at Leeds. The 49ers now very worried and stories of investing in January especially as we have 3 loan slots open. The story about Gonzalo Garcia is also true as Leeds and Real Madrid have spoken and even offered to purchase the kid. This one again makes little sense as hes 21 so he’s younger than Mateo Joseph who was supposed to be Spains future No9. There are quite a few stories like this. The best one and probably the most whacky, but does have a ring of truth to the Leeds connection. Many of you will have heard the name George Gardi, hes one of the top football agents in the world and has a string of top players in football and many other sports. I got a call from someone last week and he mentioned Gardi trying to do some business for one of his top players. I then did some digging and found some stuff and also links to 49ers, Bielsa and a few more bits and pieces that could make sense or could end up being just another whacky story: Back in 2018 Radz had recently taken over and Marcelo Bielsa was wanting recruits. Radz was in Milan and some Leeds fans spotted him and asked why was he in Milan and were we trying to sign a top player…… from there two plus two were used to make five as it was well known Bielsa admired Mauro Icardi who at Inter Milan was well on his way to scoring 111 goals in only 188 games. Lots of links to Bielsa and the Argentine international striker, yet nothing happened and we bought Rodrigo. Fast forward to today and that link again has come back to life as Icardi is out of contract in June and there are reasons he may prefer to leave Galatasary after some personal bad news and now over a bad injury. The club are trying to keep him but they also have Victor Osimhen and they are both deadly in front of goal. Icardi. Since arriving in Turkey, Icardi’s stats are: 22/23 26 games and 23 goals 23/24 47 games and 34 goals 24/25 7 games and 4 goals due to a bad injury. 25/26 11 games and 7 goals so far, now back and fully fit again. Icardi has played for Sampdoria, Inter Milan, PSG and scored shed loads of goals and was also as a kid on the books of Barcelona. The link could just be his agent George Gardi talking but could also be a “Hail Mary” shake of the dice from the 49ers. As he would also be well cheap as contract ending but a player with over 220 league goals plus all the goals in the cups and European competitions. Gardi put Osimhen into the same club as Icardi when Icardi got injured, so you can see why it makes sense for Icardi to move on plus he is in the middle of a massive divorce from a wife who loves front page news and being photographed for glamour mags. Gardi and the 49ers are close as he has NFL players, basketball players, skiers, race drivers on his books. There are also moves afoot to offload players and Tanaka could be one due to the fallout this weekend as it’s known the kid is peed off.
It’s from a source who is pretty good but as I said there are loads of stories now on Leeds, Farke, 49ers but one tip I got from this guy and I will be putting a few quid on it is that Slot gets sacked in the Summer and Julian Nagelsman takes over at Liverpool after the WC. Nagelsman has a contract with Germany until 2028 but they will allow him to go early because Klopp has spoken to Liverpool recommending Nagelsman and Klopp will take over at Germany
Other stories about players who are being linked are sprouting up all over and some are so far out of left field they seem mad. There are stories about players from Puerto Rico as an example a couple of left wingers and a striker all 3 have scored around 20 goals in only 9 or 10 games. Another is for Frangulino 21yo from Midtjyland who has scored 14 in 14 games. Spertsyan again a 25yo AM who has scored 6 in 15 games for Krasnodar, Ueda a Japanese player from Feyenoord who has scored13 goals in only 12 games. Guess it won’t be long now before the window madness takes hold. Lets just hope it’s not Harry Wilson…..
