It’s still a big IF we bounce straight back up so a very risky strategy if deliberate, which I don’t believe it was incidentally.
No not a deliberate strategy but more a full understanding of the situation and how it would all likely play out. Remember they were in the midst of negotiating a full takeover and if they didn't get the reduced price they wanted from Radrizani they'd have stayed as a minority partner and watched him squirm. Just my opinion of course and if we hadn't been relegated then the situation would be entirely different but we were and the 49ers were still very much prepared to acquire the club in full.
we won the game but its the same old Leeds, plenty of the ball, plenty of chances. but not clinical enough in front of goal. sounds silly as we scored 4 but this replay shouldn't of even of been played for the same reasons. also it should never of entered extra time last night and all because of us not taking our chances. 1st half was a bit steady but 2nd half we should of blown them away. not having a go as the effort was there we just don't have the mind set of killing games off when we are massively on top then we always seem to pay the price. On a positive note I'm loving the energy and some players are now moulding into the team. Gruev looks right on his game and we are seeing why he was brought here. hes very bizzy a nuisance I would call him doesn't give opp players time on the ball and a stealer of a football with a eye for a pass loving it. We have the players to do much damage in this league its all about the finer adjustments to cement that promotion spot. As on the FA Cup all the pressure now on Villa and Chelsea because for a change we are expected to lose. we got nowt to lose and just go there and give it a good go. its not a David and Goliath tie quite a few of our players have played Prem football and some still are We will go there knowing what to expect. if either of Villa/Chelsea take it lightly they in for a shock. Back to the bread and butter first though and taking them 3 points Sat off the worst team in our Division.
It’s starting to get a bit boring and repetitive now as every game is very similar with us being the dominant team. Personally much prefer going to watch us play when everything is not quite so predictable.
Chelsea 3-0 up with 20 mins left so looks like we'll be heading down to the Bridge for our midweek 5th round tie. Good news is we're at home on the Friday night prior to that game and then make the short trip to Huddersfield the Saturday after. No replays from the 5th round onwards remember
Friday night against Leicester. The Football League doing all they can to ensure their top clubs can have a good run and do the league proud.
Yep we play Friday night and they play Sunday afternoon in the Carabao Cup final. Shame the match wasn't scheduled for Tuesday but can't have everything I suppose
Our best players like Summerville & Rutter have by their performances this season earn't the right to play on the big stage. Let's hope they show what they're all about and if that leads to big money moves in the summer then so be it.
