PE firm take possession of ex-Leeds Utd director’s properties in major fraud case https://propertyindustryeye.com/pe-...utd-directors-properties-in-major-fraud-case/
Another reason we may end up losing Sam Greenwood is because it seems Leeds have reached agreement with Espanyol for the signature of 17yo wonderkid striker Mateo Joseph Fernandez. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villareal have been chasing the kid for over a year. Orta knows the kid and knows his contract end at the end of the season. Espanyol realise he can walk on a free unless a deal gets done. If the deal gets done it means yet another kid who will walk into the U23s even at his tender age
Looks like we are paying Wigan a wedge because Joffy has been called up to the England U21s, there will also be more to pay when he makes his first team league debut. So total amount we end up paying for him is £1.6m total. Realistically how do you put a value on Joffy? Noni Maduaki the ex Spurs kid who went to Holland to do his own thing is a regular England U21 player. He was also being chased this Summer by Leeds but his club wanted way too much money for him at £35m. Madueki withdrew from the England squad and Joffy replaced him. Other players like Fast Eddie valued at £20m and so too are most of the kids in the England U21 squad. We now have Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt in this squad of elite kids, so whats he worth? Bet his valuation on ghe books is high
Will you please stop posting football stuff on here. It's the international break and we need some light relief.
For those interested more good news on vaccines. After successful trials the WHO have authorised the use of a malaria vaccine which is expected to save 400,000 lives every year
Sorry folks but Im keeping to footy and it now looks like Orta has agreed personal terms with the kid and Pep is also chasing him but looks like we got him. With personal terms said to have been agreed, it is brilliant to know yet another talented young player wants to be at Elland Road. Thorp Arch is becoming one of the best academies in England yet again, and Marcelo Bielsa will have a massive say on that. Manchester City were said to be leading the race for the English-born sensation back in May, but Leeds looked to have made the first move [The Sun]. Pep Guardiola was said to be looking for a replacement for Sergio Aguero, so Joseph must be highly thought of. It has been made no secret that the Manchester City boss values Bielsa as one of his biggest mentors throughout his career, but he could be about the lose out on a big deal. Joseph is said to have agreed terms, but even if a transfer fee is not reached, at-least a deal could still happen in 2022 once his deal expires in Spain – bring it on.
Not sure what you mean LoL but if you mean that most clubs in the top end of the prem have 17,18 and 19yo playing regular, then yes there is no reason why we cant. Unless Bielsa refuses. Simplistically though Bielsa gives kids a chance and if they fail to shine he moves them on. He looks at how they coped and if he believes it hurt them they are moved on. Clarke, Stevens, Bogusz, Huggins, Casey, Gotts, McCalmont, Davies, Edmondson all apparent top notch kids but all moved on. Maybe Bielsa is waiting to see something from Joffy, Summerville got a chance and did it, Cresswell forced him into using him and got it, Struijk forced it and got it, so some make it through but its a tough gig. Leo Hjelde is only 17 and already capatained the U23s in place of Cresswell, hes also sat on the bench because he has played first team for Celtic and can play CB or LB hes only 17yo. Next Summer I see lots of 23s going out on loan or sold again because they didnt cut it. Thats why I see Sam Greenwood on his bike and lets be frank we will make a huge profit on him. But as for Joffy the kid deserves the chance to show Roberts what a good player looks like especially in front of goal
That’s what I meant. If our academy kids are the best then why aren’t they breaking into the first team. Is our starting 11 so much better than villa’s that he can’t get a few minutes? Is the lad that got injured at ours miles ahead that he can start for recent champions league and premier league winners? Do we think they are better than they really are? I’m asking you that see them regularly.
As far as kids go Italy and Spain are using a couple of kids tonight. Gavi for Spain is only 17yo and the Italians have handed Raspodori the No9 shirt hes a baby oh and as for the jab debate, what will you say to the world governing body? However - and contrary to some media reports - BBC Sport understands Fifa does not want any player to be prevented from playing in the Qatar 2022 World Cup because of their vaccination status, and is looking into alternatives to being fully vaccinated, including proof of recovery from Covid-19 or negative tests.
