To all you 'roll your sleeves' boys. Of course they should. And no-one's saying fans can't be pissed off. It's not the point. If you're a waiter and and someone swears at you and suggests you're not great at your job... do you dash to the kitchen to make sure they're served next and the food is cooked perfectly and presented beautifully? No you spit in their food and piss in their drink.
Honestly, I get the point that you get mercenaries in football who's heart isn't in it. But most of them are trying. Whether it's self interest for their next contract rather than commitment to the team will vary, but these are competitive fckers. You don't make it in professional football without that. Some undoubtedly go soft after the big contracts come in, but there are big squads to choose from and someone to take their place if they do. Managers are not going to pick players they don't believe will give 100%. I saw mentally weak players lose confidence and make regular mistakes. It's fear not effort. Sorry boys sometimes they need a hug not a lashing
Don't think the waiter is paid to supposedly entertain people, unless they are supposed to do a grand entrance spinning your spag bol whilst doing the Riverdance....
Palace and spurs game there was no effort i saw them live. We need players who try every game not to impress scouts now and then.
