Sony Perkins brought home from shyte loan with Oxford, good. Also the Turk player story rumbles on……”After 148 appearances, the winger has netted 37 goals and recorded a further 38 assists, as well as becoming a key player for the national team”
Both a gamble but Sonny Perkins is an odd one. He was literally on the brink of breaking into the West Ham first team. All the hammers fans I know were disappointed when he joined us, WTF has gone wrong? Have we put him on too much money and that has affected his desire?
Good because he needs to go somewhere and play. Oxford was wrong for him and all because the initial manager was useless and didn’t like him and when the new bloke came in he already had a different plan in his head and didn’t want Perkins. He’s another one the club have fooked up, too good for the 21s but not good enough for the first team so needs guaranteed league football
On the subject of Perkins let’s get some facts straight. Bielsa brought in a bunch of kids with potential, but through mismanagement and first team injuries and then Jesse Marsch we have shytloads of kids who have underachieved. Summerville is the only one so far to break the duck: Summerville Greenwood Gyabi Drameh Perkins Gelhardt Klaessen Bate Joseph should break through Montiero McGurk From the way the kids were stopped from playing in Bielsa’s final season due to injuries so lost a season, to the way Marsch got rid of some and used some from time to time. The way some were sent out on loan like Lewis Bate who was doing a great job but had to return early though injury. It’s been a mess for a couple of years for various reasons. So not looking like a great long term investment right now
Have to face facts, not many Academy’s players make it to the first team. I have often thought and have posted in the past that we don’t loan out our players to get them first team ready but because we don’t think they are going to be good enough to make it here.
