Summerville looked short of confidence on his few outings with the first team. He plays safety first whereas in the reserves he knows he can just run past people. I think he can make the grade here, he's really talented and the best finisher at the club. I think it might just take a run of games or a cup game where he smashes it to really kick on.
His partnership down the right with Drameh was special but he was also used as a 10 last season and looked great because he was still spraying passes and waltzing past players and scoring goals too. He really needs to step up this season and prove he can do it
He needs to go out on a season loan. We would see then if he has what it takes. No good him being a bench warmer all season.

We have seen before how “men v boys” can turn out, plus add that a team just thrown together find it hard to gel in a one-off game against pumped up opponents. Mix and match by all means but let’s win this game and keep the good feeling going.
I think the problem from reading many comments is fans believe we can cobble together a team of 23’s and beat anyone outside the pl. that attitude has been our downfall in cups in last two decades. Will be interesting what approach Marsch adopts to the cups as he has No experience of what they mean or don’t in English football
Your post is completely correct. I also think that the opposition see it as an insult so want to teach the “boys” a lesson.
They probably don’t care even that much a bit like when over last two decades we’d draw a big team and if they played all reserves we’d ignore the fact to make our performance look somewhat more Respectable
