Good Morning. It's Wednesday 21st July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds preparing bid for Swedish star Swedish news outlet Expressen have revealed that Leeds are one of five Premiership clubs (Newcastle, Brentford, Wolves, Palace and ourselves) to be preparing a bid for Swedish International midfielder Jens Cajuste. The 21yo currently applies his trade at Danish outfit FC Midtjylland, but a recent development suggests he may be on the move. He was dropped from the squad who drew 1-1 at Celtic in their second round European qualifier on Tuesday night, suggesting a move could be imminent! Cajuste is an aggressive, tough tackling box to box midfielder. One report even claimed the 21yo 'collects yellow cards like they are going out of fashion'. Ligue 1 club Rennes have apparently had an offer rejected around 8.5m, but the three times Danish Superliga Champions are holding out for more! please log in to view this image Leeds ranked 36th in the World! Leeds United have been ranked 36th in the latest Global Club Soccer Rankings, ahead of Roma, Lazio, Villa and Everton. Unsurprisingly Manchester City topped the list, with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Barcelona and Liverpool in hot pursuit. Bottom of this list in 636th place is Scunthorpe Utd! The data has been calibrated by statistical analysis giants FiveThirtyEight by estimating how many goals each team will score, against the amount they are predicted to concede. Leeds have an offensive rating of 2.1 while the defensive level is 0.8 which leads to an overall SPI score of 74.9. In other words, Leeds are the 36th best side in the World! Leeds taking advantage of School of Sport facility at Leeds Beckett Uni Leeds Utd journalist Phil Hay has detailed how Leeds have taken a more scientific view this pre season, by taking advantage of the new 45m 'School of Sport' facility at the Leeds Beckett University. Andy Jenkinson is Leeds performance nutritionist. He will monitor the players physical and mental output, which the club’s medical staff will use to get the most out of the players. Specialist analysis of joints and muscles should allow the medical staff at Elland Road to gauge more accurately the risk of injury. Leeds have already spent 1.5m overhauling the pitch this summer, replacing all the drainage and lower layers, which should also reduce the risk of injury. Don't worry about players fitness though. Bielsa is demanding double and triple training sessions, evening finishes and plenty of murderball thrown in. please log in to view this image
Morning all. Was quite impressed when I saw that we were the 36th best team in the world. That is until I saw that Brighton are the 25th !!
Poor Izzy but really not bothered as he hasnt been with the club for a couple of years and really never played for the first team. Its like Alioski, ai dont really give a toss anymore as he isnt a Leeds player. I only have so much band width for Leeds Utd and wasting it on players outside the club means least time for those in it. i have a rule of thumb when posting any good news about the club. I always make sure to see if theirs anything that could taken the shine off the good news and Brighton being 25th means Elland should have not bothered with that piece
Imagine paying money to watch Brighton ... that Swedish lad looks a good 'un, and we know that working under Bielsa will turn him into a superstar ... this Boro reject who's in charge of finding players for Bielsa certainly knows his stuff, wonder what the Smoggies must think every time they see Raphinha running down the wing fkn can't wait for the first friendly, there's nothing like Bielsa ball no matter which Leeds team it is ... U23s were a good watch last season, will be interesting to see how they do in a higher division, although I feel they'll be just fine ... not sure if we'll be able to get into Thorp Arch anymore to go watch the youngsters, maybe Jock knows
Tell you what I notice more about this tranny window; lots of the same names in midfield keep cropping up and vanishing fast, but logic says that most of them would add quality to our squad. The WBA players Pirrera, Yokuslu and Gallagher (I know 2 were only on loan) the Turk is only £6m too. Belmonte £6m…… Interesting to see what we do
Heard similar to this on a couple of occasions and makes sense on a couple of levels: Bielsa is looking for a house? spending 3 years in a flat isnt great and could be deemed as wasting money. Could he be thinking of doing a 2 year deal? Even if if he left next Summer he is now part of Leeds and Yorkshire and would be welcome here anytime, so maybe he loves Yorkshire so much that he plans on holidaying here or sees it as an investment. Could his wife or a daughter be thinking of coming over so needs something bigger Maybe its bollox? Can see him buying a through terrace with an outside bog and just getting down with the locals, as he wont buy a mansion or a big barn conversion with duel aspect from his bedroom, with integrated wifi and hifi controls and integrated speaker system Hope its no further than 5 mile from TA as he still wont buy a car and will walk in and home everyday
