Yeah, we usually do the same. It's a common tactic. Get rid of Bielsa and get Big Sam in so we go long all the time. West Brom thrived when they did it last season.

Let's get things clear... last night was unacceptable.

I don't care how the fan base paints this losing by 7 goals would have got certain managers fired. Parts of the fan base are only giving this a pass because it's Bielsa and he got us promoted. Frankly I'm sick of it, people need to wake up and realize that we need to start looking around for a new Manager. We've only won 3 games and lost 7 so far this season and we've got Liverpool, Arsenal and Villa in the next 3 games and I don't see us picking up points against them.

We're not going up against the likes of Billy Sharp week in week out we're going up against the likes of Ronaldo and Lukauku it's a different standard of player.

Recruitment has been no where near good enough this summer and the loss to Ajax should have been a wake up call but no we sign James and ship off Costa.

We're too reliant on Raph and Philips and every time one of there names is missing off the team sheet I start to worry.

The squad is too small... what in Bielsa's mind makes him think we can go toe to toe with some of the best players in the world for 38 games whilst picking up injuries and not be in trouble with such a tiny squad.

    THINGS HAVE TO CHANGE!!!

When you're playing against Citeh playing tappy tappy from the back with 3 or 4 attacking players waiting to pounce, we should go long.

Can you provide evidence of the 75m wage bill?

The team he took over he got promoted with, with the addition of bamford, harrison, Costa and coco. We lost jansson and roofe. So those 4 additions must be on 15m each or other managers couldn't get promoted with 75m or 75m is a lie

Sorry I’m late giving my view
But I agree with the feeling that a 7-0 thrashing wasn’t good enough, as it could have and should have been even more.
Cannot believe the downward trend we are on this season, because after last, I was even thinking a top six challenge could be possible, or certainly a top ten again.
From the word go against scumchechester we have been but a shadow of our former selves, the gung ho never say die attitude which got us feeling so proud and won many neutral admirers last season, has all but gone, big question is where ?
My own personal take on it, is as I have said many times before we miss Alioski in the changing room and on the field, as he epitomised the run till you drop attitude of the team, very poor recruitment from Orta/Radz, and Bielsa’s stubbornness as he needs to cut his cloth according to our situation.
I realy fear for us over the next few games, because we ship goals and our heads drop all to easily atm, don’t get me wrong I wasn’t realy expecting many if any points over the festive season, but conceding ten goals against the first two of the tough fixtures is very very concerning to me, goal difference could make a difference at the end of the season, and if we rely on that, well you know what might happen.
Things need to change and not just one, like the injuries, the whole set up needs analysing before it’s to late.
    <sorry>

It's in Leeds official accounts plus: https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...rea-radrizzanis-ownership-is-analysed-3189817

    and...

What are the key figures from the accounts?
Leeds posted an overall loss of £62 million during the campaign, with total administration costs for the club running to a huge £108 million.

The wage bill was £78 million, while they handed out £20 million in promotion bonuses.

Turnover at Elland Road did leap to £54 million, from £48 million the year prior. This was projected to hit £56 million before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Elsewhere, the accounts confirmed the £23 million investment from 49ers Enterprises, which is the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers.

Leeds also took out £43 million in loan funding after the end of the accounting period.

Also of note was their increased commercial revenue, which was boosted by £15 million of merchandise sales.

There was also a rebate of £7 million paid out to broadcasters.

    Small squad and injuries

irrespective of what fans say about our performances this season, we cannot do it with our hands tied behind our backs. Earlier this season we had 9 first team players out and we only had 18 in the squad thats 50% unavailable and the results that followed were not good enough but a bloody god excuse. We are playing with too many players out of position and right now we have 5 internationals out. Its not fair to blame Bielsa for poor results when the poor old git is taking the blame all the time even tough he knows we dont have the player numbers or quality still fit enough. We also cannot just say we have a load of U23s to step upas they dont have the experience yet

So 20 of the 78m was promotion bonus.
Your initial point was that any manager would have got promoted with that wage bill. It is irrelevant what the wage bill was. He got promoted with essentially the same group of players that other managers could only finish mid table with. But if you are going to use wage bills (less than half of the 58m remaining would have gone on the 1st team playing squad) let me use transfer fees. We only bought 1 player for a fee, bamford 15m. We receivef money for Vieira, roofe, jansson and others. So negative spend on transfers of about 15m. How many other managers would get promoted with that?

But you say we can’t blame Bielsa and on another thread complain about square pegs in round holes, the fans don’t put the wrong players in the wrong positions Bielsa does.

We did try and go long. They scored immediately.

We tried to go long against Chelsea and they scored.

Who you aiming at? Gelhardt, James? Or is it just coming straight back anyway?

Or do you try and do what you do in training every day and try and play through it?

I'm going to use that well worn phrase "second season syndrome" to try and explain how we've imploded since last season. We've basically got 7 or 8 players who are championship quality. They played out of their skins last season as it was a novelty, the excitement of being in the EPL spurred them on. This season they're knackered, the lust for the challenge just isn't there and they haven't got the talent to let them cruise through it. It happened to Sheff Utd last season, but in fairness I think we're much better than them. Having said that, the injuries have meant our best players are missing and we're relying on the very ones who are Championship quality.

The big 6 are gonna come calling for KP and Rapha in January, I have no idea whether they will stay or go. We stay up or get relegated based on those two.

What they were saying is the 20m bonus we got for promotion softened the blow for the 78m we forked out on wages.

My point is many Managers with that kind of investment would have got us promoted.

My thoughts exactly. Unless you deliver a pin point kick or the team are great at winning second balls, then you're just returning possession to the opposition, albeit further up the field. The playing out is about retaining possession and then breaking.
