Is she doing Question of Sport as well or have I made that up?
Pretty sure the commentator on the grand national was boasting about how horse racing was ahead of other sports in terms of equality in terms of men and women. Well yes they are competing in the same thing against each other, the horse being the key factor that allows them to compete on a relatively equal level. Cannot be achieved in the majority of other sports as they are miles below the level required.
I take it back, excellent piece of defending-
Probably going to watch FF for the last time on Saturday
Haven't watched football focus regularly since Bob Wilson stopped presenting it
You couldn't beat Saint & greavsie, makes walkers crisps and boring shearer look like cardboard cut outs
It was about the Pogba/Mourinho situation at scum. The presenter (I forget who it was) asked Gullit about what effect it would have in the changing room (it was obvious they were getting at the Shearer/Gullit thing at Newcastle). Gullit said his piece and then asked Jamie about his time at Liverpool (the spice boy stuff) and at this point Alex Scott pretty much talked over Redknapp and we never got to hear from the other two again.
I reckon that there would be a different dynamic between a group of women and a group of men. I have no experience of an all women changing room but I know for a fact that if a woman walked in to our changing room when I played then there would be a big behavioural change from the lads. I just thought it was disrespectful to two former pro's who had played with and/or managed some big ego's during their career to interrupt them when she has no experience of an all male changing room and the dynamic that goes on in there.
In fairness, if I was interested in how something was to affect the women's England team morale and chemistry the last person I want to here from is a male ex pro. They would have no experience. I would look to Alex Scott as the expert on that particular question. She is the only one qualified. And again in fairness I don't mind the game analysis done by a female as long as they know what they are talking about. Michelle Owen should get a go in the studio or commentary box she clearly understands the game and does a great job at sky reporting from the grounds. But when it comes to dressing room chemistry/morale/banter or whatever you want to call it then it's time they stepped back and allowed the guys to talk us through it.
I guess we are lucky to have our very own excellent presenter.
Emma Louise Jones.
Indeed, she can talk a load of pap anytime.....
I stopped watching m o t d years ago. I've no problem with women in sport, commentating on sport, but IMO they should stick to their own womens sports. I don't listen to them.
Even comedy classics like Some Mothers do have em comes with a warning.
.....and as for the pay me the same as men in tennis, no problem if they play 5 sets.
Yeah who cares what she has to say. Thank **** for the mute or change the channel button.
Some viewers may find the following programme offensive ffs unbelievable
That same warning is now on our news stations before certain items, ffs who the **** is it aimed at. Before anyone says kids might be watching, what kid watches the news.
Hello. I was looking for the‘grumpy old men’ thread. You wouldn’t happen to be able to direct me
This is the 'grumpy young men' thread so you're in the wrong place you old ****er.
