Not a wind-up, btw, Jonny. This has been mentioned more & more over the last few years over here in the media. Apparently it's a growing movement, & seems to have erupted since Trump became #45. I tried a quick Google to see if I could find an article, but even better, I found the name of the campaign, should you wish to enquire further - it's 'Yes California'. Here's the Wiki site ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_California

I'm not that interested to go research it, but intrigued enough to ask a local who's in the middle of it what's happening. Clearly not a lot :D Perhaps it's not the big issue that seems to be bigged up here at times. Suspect the promotion of it over here might be down to anti-Trump feeling in certain quarters.

Actually, as I pause, I'm astounded that you've never heard of this.

The US is the only country with 2 ‘left coasts’

That’s where the people with passports who occasionally travel and sometimes meet tourists from other countries live.

The hillbillies with 6 toes who suck straw for entertainment and enact scenes from deliverance at the weekend live in the middle bit. They’re the ones Donny tango has dangling on his line. To be fair he knows his audience and how to speak their language.

I appreciate this may be a simplistic generalisation:biggrin:

Perhaps the uk could have a referendum about whether California should leave? We’re good at them.

A very weak, poor man's imitation of ours (got to like the Russian first name though, Donald Chump must be so jealous of that!), but I don't think ours has lied to the queen to shut down congress.... yet!

Oh wait, we had a war way back then in the 1770s so he wouldn't have to! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think we would want to complete it in our own lifetimes, but thanks for the offer. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I didn't take it as a wind up at all.

I'm reasonably well informed and would think I would be aware of this if it was current and had any traction.

    <sorry>

    We complete them quite quickly.

Acting on them? Hmm, not so quick.

Well you would say that Jonny. The Union had slaves up until the war started and Lincoln only issued the proclamation a couple of weeks before the war ended. In fact some Union soldiers upon hearing that they were fighting for the negro actually left the army. The Confeds were fighting for their own independence and for their land which the Union wanted because it was valuable for them. What Lincoln should have done was to send them back to where they were taken from and given money to buy land in their own country of origin. Then maybe America wouldnt be so divided.<ok>

Prince Harry dressed up with a nazi symbol and your fellow countrymen and women wet themselves over him. FFS the whole thing about dressing up is to have fun, do you really think that Prime minister did it to offend the sensibilities of the poor down trodden blackman. Also I see you don't have an opinion on Whitening up.<ok>

    But since you asked.

It's people abusing their god given right to express their opinions and believes by spouting absolute boll**ks.

Just my interpretation of course...which hopefully proves the point and so I rest my case.
