Not a wind-up, btw, Jonny. This has been mentioned more & more over the last few years over here in the media. Apparently it's a growing movement, & seems to have erupted since Trump became #45. I tried a quick Google to see if I could find an article, but even better, I found the name of the campaign, should you wish to enquire further - it's 'Yes California'. Well you would say that Jonny. The Union had slaves up until the war started and Lincoln only issued the proclamation a couple of weeks before the war ended. In fact some Union soldiers upon hearing that they were fighting for the negro actually left the army. The Confeds were fighting for their own independence and for their land which the Union wanted because it was valuable for them. What Lincoln should have done was to send them back to where they were taken from and given money to buy land in their own country of origin. Then maybe America wouldnt be so divided.
