That your players are **** and you had a good run off the back of a promotion season. Normal service will resume and you can continue your yo-yo act between the champ and league 1.

Not evidence just a prediction, just like mighty’s post.

West Brom are preparing a 10m bid for Pontus Jansson.

They have just secured Kyle Bartley for 3.5m, and are keen to team him up with Jansson again....

fair enough Wakey, as I say in all these type of issues, I'm more than happy to and want to be proved wrong. Nothing I've seen from Hugill play live or from his stats gives me encouragement, again i guess for someone the way you describe them, id have expected them to score more than 20 goals and made 3 assists in the last 2 seasons.Elland says he's someone good to have as a second striker and milky says he will do well if we have someone else who can get a hatful of goals and that's my issue, that should have been our priority and yet thats not what I consider us to be signing in Hugill, so who is going to score our goals.

All in all I guess I'm disappointed that with all the talk about Hernandez and Vydra it just seems like deja vu of God knows how many previous seasons where we are happy to settle for something less than what we were aiming for and I just hope that one of these seasons my pessimism will be wrong :emoticon-0105-wink:

The only GBH would be to his ego - remember the big girls blouse feigning injury before crying to come off at The Den after being totally dominated by Morison <laugh>

Point is though we have been chasing two prolific proven goal scorers, strikers who score 20 goals a season for fun at this level and if they netted 25-30 it wouldn’t be a surprise. We’ve been looking to sign them up with a contract to become our players.

We’ve been excited for weeks about them now we’re told we can’t afford their wages so we’re taking a guy on loan who hardly kicked a ball last season and has never scored 15 goals yet alone 20.

The other guy we’re being presented with is a keeper who couldn’t hold down a first team slot at Sheff United. Hugill and Blackman on loan is a bit of a comedown from Hernandez, Vydra, Stockdale and Gunn.

I’m not knocking Hugill but any team at this level stating they were signing him on loan I’d think okay, he’s average, not bad but not exciting. Any team signing Vydra or Hernandez I’d think wow they intend on going for it this season.

Wood or Hugill? Another point being we never did replace Wood as we had Lasogga on loan

Ristac - this "20 goal a season" striker business is a myth that's been dispelled - you don't necessarily need one to get out of this division. If a club relies on this "20 goal a season striker" to make the difference and he gets crocked or has a barren spell, you are ****ed because of your dependance on him.

Goals from all over the park is a far better approach and we've proved that twice now. Last time when we got to the Prem 4 years back, Helgusson was our top scorer with only 9, but despite that, we were the highest overall goalscorers in the Championship that year.

Going up last season, Callum Paterson was top scorer with just 10, but Junior Hoilett and Ken Zohore got 9 each to push it along. Far better to get the whole team involved in scoring not just rely on an expensive "name" to do it for the club. Anyway, it worked for us. <ok>
