Morning all The best explanation on the Pontus fiasco was done by Whelan and Popey on a podcast. Whelen said that last season Southampton, Villa, Sheff Utd and a couple more premiership teams were interested in Pontus. The only club that came forward was Brentford which tells you a lot. Those prem teams are not willing to gamble on his attitude because they have obviously heard whispers since the end of the season. Whelen also said it now looks like Pontus will never play in the Prem. Kit's ok but too many people reading too much into the kit launch because some players weren't there. As Norman quite rightly stated; there must be a plan for a new CB and to be honest I dont think we've finished in the transfer market yet

I've been around Ell. Last season though I just didn't fancy coming here for some reason. Dunno why. Appreciate its a matter of opinion. We could play that game another ten times with the same line up. Would there be the mix up? Would we give such a silly penalty away? Would Berardi get sent off? Ok, apart from that last question I would say probably not. This was one night where things didn't go right. Janson or Berardi? Who knows what would have happened
I was not talking about Philips in particular I was talking generally. If an offer is made for a player I suppose you have to go through several steps Do we need the player?, Is the offer acceptable.?.Have we got a replacement?,Do we offer a rise?. If we go through these steps and the player wants to go there is no point in keeping an unsettled player.
Agreed WC, I'm as confused as everyone else regarding Pontus's sale, but he's talking bollox regarding Brentford being the club he wanted to play for. No Premier club came in for him apparently which is surprising. So it's seems he had no choice.
Yep here we are still in the same league as yourselves, but after having IMO a great last season. I'm not going to say too much more, but the same supporters who are moaning now are the same who enjoyed last seasons. It melts my head.
