Kalvin is having a mare playing alongside Rice. I wonder what the pro game is like when the England manager picks two players like that alongside each other and expects positive things to happen. Kalvin should throw the shackles off and push forward 5 or 10 yards. Rice can't do it. Even take Sancho off, push Sterling up with Kane, bring Grealish on to float behind the front 2 which will occupy the Danish midfield, stop them pressing as effectively and give Rice and Phillip's a platform to play off with Trippier and Alexander-Arnold pushing out on the wings.

Phillips just come off. I thought he did ok in second half (which is all I’ve seen). The England formation lacks bite going forwards but you don’t blame a DM for that, he did what was asked of him pretty well I thought.
Looked a bit nervy first 20 minutes, started to grow in to it a bit from there. Came out second half and was alot more assured. Started playing his long passes and dictating play a bit more. A shame they kept Rice on. The two of them kind of got under each others feet. Would have been nice to see him with Mount in front of him.
Southgate is clueless, why can't england pay the money for a proper manager? His best idea tonight is to chuck on grealish so he can roll around looking for a free kick or pen.

you just don’t grasp the strategy. It’s like a boxer sparring. Tonight we practised how to defend a Lead by playing a team of defenders. In every game between now and the next major champs we will practice scenarios, while skillfully changing the team sheet and keeping our tinder dry regarding who our best 11 is. Then in the next big tournament , we come alive. Southgate May appear to be a clueless dullard... but it’s all part of the master plan
