Costa had more than enough chances to do something with his time here but he just wasn't good enough. He couldn't play consistently and his effort was sadly lacking in too many games. I always backed him whilst at Leeds regardless but it was time for him to move on.

Why is Shackleton now considered to be not good enough? He's a midfielder who's had to fill in at RB due to injuries. Surely he can only be judged as a midfielder after he's got some time under his belt in that position?

Why isn’t he getting some time in that position then?

Filling in at RB, like I said.

But he’s never been getting played in midfield even ahead of Dallas, Rodrigo, Roberts, Koch, Struijk even when Ayling was fit.

You absolutely sure about that? I'm not, given the myriad injury situations we've had this season. Btw, he's a box to box midfielder, so that discounts all but Dallas from your list.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but if he was that good, he would always displace any of the above and another player (Dallas?) would be a stand in right back?

Can I suggest WJ that when posting on here whilst at sea, you do it from the comfy of your cabin, or sat in one of the passenger lounges. I am sure the crew are getting fed up at seeing you go "man overboard" as you are so unaware of your surroundings as you post on here, that you fall off the ship, and then whilst waiting to be rescued, you continue to post on here, bobbing up and down in the water ;)
