Transfers in or out we can't afford to lose any players right now. simply because of the injury circumstances and size of our squad. The club should worry about that come the summer. At the moment with a small squad we really shouldn't have a problem financially keeping them to the end of the season. Question now to the board and Manager is how much do you want to stay in the Premier League? because this patched up team still featuring 1st team squad players is not good enough. One thing we have learned this season so far is, quite a few of these squad players are not Premier League standard for whatever reason. I think a full or near full strength team holds it's own mid table. but, you never will go through a season like that. which we have found out big time in our current state. once 3-4-5 of these hold your own players go out at the same time the team goes to from solid Mid table team to a struggling Relegation threatened team. Staying in the Premier League is massive not only financially but even more so on holding onto what we are building. If we go down that hard work will take a massive axe in the side. We all have our personal choices who should go and that's why these chat sites are good to get everything off your chest. What I personally think will happen in Jan is wheeling dealing. I don't see any big transfer fee's coming in I also don't see many leaving it would be suicidal. I wouldn't be surprised to see any swap deals maybe Rodrigo being as bait with a few million here or there but i don't see us going out and shelling 10 to 20 m on players. could well be a 1 in one out scenario. As on the current squad my personal choice my opinion Shackleton,Firpo,Klich,Roberts,Rodrigo all need to go in the summer. Klich still a decent player but lost his Premiership legs.(has all season) Rodrigo : You see a player there you really do. but he just doesn't fit in our style and to be fair to both club and player should part company. Shacks/Roberts are Championship players at best Firpo: to be fair deserves more time. but, is a headless chicken has no football sense at all He switches off to easy and has very little pace for the position we want him to play. A few others need to pull up their socks too We are defo in that transition stage come the summer. Some players who had it, don't have it anymore. Players we thought had it, don't have it. All I do know this team we have put out the last two games regardless of who we played will struggle to keep us up. We haven't been beaten we have been outclassed and that's hard to say for a team that's fixed into my heart
Our games against Burnley and Newcastle are crucial. It would be nice to get something from West Ham but we need 6 points from those two games.
So if we won one of those and lost the other, not sure which one is the better one to win. Probably better to beat Burnley I reckon.
I did. Useless ****s. Southampton are also not far away from us in the table so no points for them would've been nice.
At least I didn't have anything on MVG in the darts He's had to withdraw due to testing +ve for Covid
A good and interesting post Siddas, but I would like to ask you all a question. If you were an international player would you leave your current club now and get bedded in with your new club, get familiar with the team and individual players, then hit the new season full of confidence and book my international spot, or leave it till end of season, risk not settling in straight away in the new season, loose form and the WC is only weeks away and danger of not being picked !!! What would you do, I would be off in January as you don’t get too many chances of playing in a WC…. OR stay with the current team, prey the team don’t get relegated, hope the current manager doesn’t leave, lots to think about……. thoughts.
Every so called expert says no business in January, well I say watch the transfers really kick off this time. Everton already spent £20m and at least 2 more going in with some going out. Newcastle will get whoever wants a big wage to go there, Norwich already said players coming in, Spurs bringing in at least 2 top names, Villa already saying new faces arriving, Watford say the same. Its going to be busy in the Prem and around Europe too with deals already agreed between PSG, Seville, Granada, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Napoli, Lazio, Barcelona, Man City, Athletico Madrid.
Exactly. Go to a club challenging for honours but hardly play. Or stay with a struggling team, play every game and be the stand out player, getting noticed by your international manager, even if your team eventually get relegated. Any player with ambitions to play in the World Cup would choose to stay with their present club. If the player is more money oriented - they’ll move.
