While it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest Ell, all three of those links cite the same source (Sport newspaper). I don't know how reliable this rag is, but I'm guessing they don't run stories about Elvis living on the Moon like our version.

The level of fitness was a big problem. It's just not sustainable over his tenure. They would either burnout like Klich, or get injuries like.... everyone...

It could turn out to be rubbish, though for Leeds-Live to quote it is quite unusual. Lets see if Phil Hay jumps on it.

Elvis is alive and well, living in Shako's basement.

Why is there always so much crap written (in the media) about Raphinha ?

Bottom line is he's been nothing short of brilliant for us and yet there are always these stories about him making demands etc. Seems a very respectful and all round nice guy if such a thing exists anymore.

Certainly dragged us out of the relegation mire with his brilliant assist against Norwich and then the penalty won & scored at Brentford. If he does leave this summer then I'm sure it will be done in a way that suits all parties <ok>

Spain defender Marcos Alonso, 31, will ask to leave Chelsea, with an agreement already in place with Barcelona. (Sport - in Spanish)
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, 26, will be announced as a Barcelona player in the coming days. His contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in June. (AS - in Spanish)
Where do Barca get the money?

It was the bit about Raph putting in a transfer request that I was on about Oldie, rather than Barca buying him. But you're right, Barca and Real Madrid always seem to be about a billion quid in debt yet still manage to pay shed loads for players. Not looking quite as likely for Barca at the moment though (maybe Rapha fancies Madrid instead) ? Christensen will be a free transfer though if he's out of contract next month so depending on wages, Barca could swing that one.

This is the list of wages that la liga clubs can pay next year.
Barca are skint, they are 1.3 B€ in debt and also have a loan for 1.5B€ to construct their new stadium.
They couldn't afford to keep messi, coutinho etc, traore was a loan, he will be going back to wolves.
Their local rags Sport, el mundo deportive, have linked them recentley to, Haaland, Salah, Lewandoski Raphinha etc.
    It's all BS.
They got booed of the pitch on their last home game and have now ****ed off to Australia to play friendlies to generate some income.

    As Este repeats every week….
Barcelona are skint, all new players are on free transfers, there are a couple of cheap players they will sign but need to offload players to ring players in. Last summer they signed nothing but freebies and still couldn't register Aguero for months as they had too many players. They are begging existing players to take massive pay cuts or leave….
But when players refuse it means a new signing cant come because La Liga have put a wage cap on the club…..

I was beginning to wonder whether the near miss with relegation might frighten the 49rs group off a full takeover. American owners like to run a tight business plan based on guaranteed income revenue, which is why there is no promotion or relegation in their sports. Seeing their investment halved had we gone down they might decide to hold onto their money?

The issue with Raphinha is his reluctance to sign the new contract offered.

My feeling is he might be willing to stay as his tranfer value next summer will be much lower. The club on the other hand may wish to take the money this year to reinvest.

Tough decision all round but a big offer from the right type of club and he goes.

Personally I'd like to see us offer him a massive wage increase and see if we can reach an agreement over a release clause in the region of £80M.

Raphinha and Phillips are under contract and for a while yet, therefore we hold all the cards and yes a player can request a transfer but that only makes the club more money and takes cash away from the player. We hold all the cards now, its up to us and whats best for the club…

Keep him if we don’t get the asking price, he won’t dare not play it’s World Cup year, if he then shines at the World Cup his value sores and we sell him in the window, win win I think
