My view is that we will be spending in the region of £60m/£70m this Summer as we have already Spent £25m on first team players. We still need a keeper a winger and midfielder. Spending on U23s too and add that to last Summer we will have spent £180m in 2 seasons. That sort of spending isnt sustainable, so I expect a top signing next Summer but have the back up from investments made in the 23s. Miller and Summerville on flanks, Greenwood, Gelhardt covering 8,9, 10. McGurk, Bate CM, DM and Drameh RB, LB or even CB. I feel more positive that we will see a glmpse of the talent and see how they handle it. Brilliant idea to invest small sums on top kids and if just one pays off you have saved £30m. Potentially we have some serious transfer savings if a couple break through
Greater Manchester police confirmed the arrest of a 31-year-old man on suspicion of child sex offences in a statement issued. The accused player has been released on bail "pending enquiries." Earlier, the police revealed a few details about the accused to the media, including the fact that he is a millionaire who plays for a Premier League club and also represents his country on a regular basis.
They revealed nothing to the media it's all made up for clickbait. It would prejudice the outcome of a trial. Also all first team players are millionaires. The police would not say that.
Don't know how saying someone they arrested was 31, would prejudice a trial. The names out there, yet no official statement from the player denying it's him, I know I would be if my name was all over the Internet accusing me of such a despicable crime. One thing for sure, no one should be named, especially on a sex crime until they have been found guilty, even if found innocent, there's always the stigma
I’ve got to say Ges, I read the headline this morning and knew it was big but didn’t look any further. By late afternoon, I knew two possible names purely from reading this forum, one definitely home made speculation. Talked to the family about it tonight and wouldn’t even name names to them because I don’t know anymore than anyone else but I would say I agree massively with Wakey, not only does nobody truly know who it is but, basic rule of this country, innocent until proven guilty. When you consider 4.5 billion people use the internet this is so dangerous. Chippy got hung for arguing with Mike about the number of millionaires there were in Bradford when they were teenagers in front of 6 or 7 members on here!
The thing I find strange about this one, is the player was named in other countries, at least 12 hours before the story even broke here, not sure of different laws but obviously the laws in those countries are more laxed than ours and why would it break in Norway first, not as though the alleged player is Norwegian.
Bad news for the jab-avoiders ..... https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-supporters-vaccine-passports-24576664 I personally don't agree with this blackmail. Cruise ships, nightclubs, theatres will apparently be treated the same. They don't check for all the other inoculations for diseases that pose a threat to life.
Before I logged in on here this morning, I'd already caught up with various Facebook posts claiming it was this player, a quick Google search and the Internet was full of his name and the alleged accusation. I don't believe it is looking good for him, if not him or he is innocent then it matters not, the accusations will stick and fans at every ground will sling crap at him. If he is guilty then it's probably best to wait for the full story. The problem is the term or crime of ****phile covers too wide an area. I've no idea of this alleged girls age but let's pretend she said she was of legal age and she wasn't. Does he deserve to be tarnished in the same bracket as someone who abuses a six year old or someone who shares and views images of the under age? I'd just like to add... The accusation I read was that he was sex texting an under age girl and had not met her.
31 year old Everton player Fabien Delph will not travel on the pre season trip to USA due to having to self isolate after coming in to contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid 19 as reported on sky sports.
It’s like one of those mixed pictures on a Question of Sport. Go on, I’ll give it a go, Gary Barlow from the nose down, Chippy in the middle and Sue Pollards hair. Oh, and Lewis Hamilton’s phallus flying in to keep the political equilibrium
Only if you screw up your eyes so that you can't really see anything. It's a bit like looking at the big bit of slate that serves as a mirror in our house.
Ched Evans was a classic case. Found guilty of rape, jailed and then released and had his sentence struck off. Miscarriage of justice and the bitch who cried rape got away without charges. Evans was in jail for ages, was a full International now playing lower league football. Still with the girl that went through hell to get him out, lucky she has a wealthy dad or he would still be inside. Too many young girls looking 18 or older but actually under 16yo. Too many stupid wealthy young men who are used to having women fawning over them. If this is just sexting and the girl looks older then this is a nowt charge. If however this is sexting or worse and the girl looks her real age the guy needs knocking out and castrating
That's a whole new discussion ristac, if a 17 year lad sleeps with a 15 year old girl, or vice versa and they know she's/he's under the age of consent then does that make them a sex offender? If a 26/27 year old sleeps with said 15 yr old does it make them one? But then what would be the cut off age be for acceptance? Then the case of different mental ages, no two cases are possibly the same but the law can't differentiate on that. So we have to have the laws we have. I know girls today can look so much older than they are, but let's say she says she's 17 and he is 31, that wouldn't be illegal but would it be morally right, especially as you're married. I know when I met my first wife she was 17 and I was 19, for a few months, I wondered was it right let alone a 14 year age gap at that age.
