actually it was more the insipid performances early season that bothered me… and without getting into the ‘small squad puts you more at risk to impact of injuries’ debate, of course we’ve been unlucky and they are absolutely a mitigating factor. strangely enough some of our better performances have come since the injury troubles, so there’s plenty to be optimistic about. the point was one about expectations, and we probably finished top of our mini league last year, so it was likely to be a tough gig to improve on… just don’t think you can expect everyone to be happy with worse results than the previous year - at any club.
