You could add Watkins, Che Adams, Josh Brownhill, Neal Maupay. I'm thinking of players that are currently or recently obtainable. Gallagher wouldn't come but we tried. I'm also predominantly thinking of players who could play at 8 for us. Swift is about as good as there is available in January for a reasonable amount. O'Brien signed a long contract and we'd probably need 15 million now. Swift is more like 2 mill. He's no Messi, but it's a viable solution given the predicament we find ourselves in. I wouldn't have an issue if the club took a cheeky punt.
Didn’t say I had a problem with him… he just wasn’t a name that registered with me particularly, previously. If he’s good and available cheap why not. All of the players I mentioned were ones I was ‘window shopping’ and were subsequently sold… excepting Gallagher who was loaned obviously. I was avoiding strikers.. my list was mainly attacking midfielders/10s… Bowen and Benrahma exceptions as I saw them as ‘creatives’ rather than out and out goal scorers… but for the record Watkins never really passed the eye test for me neither did Adams or maupay.
It was the same for me with Sam Fox and that Whittaker girl, others were raving about them week after week but personally I thought they were over rated. Now what did I do with my list from those days
