I usually would ignore it but it obviously hit a bad spot with Eire so purely out of interest I wanted to see who the poster was
Correct but the one thing these videos will have in common is they are mainly of drunken youths and likely mainly ones you wouldn't want to ever have to associate with. Its the generalising in that heading that pisses me off. We've 6m people here, no surprise there will be isolated incidents. I can assure you, the vast vast majority of Irish people are either interested in the media coverage in a curious way, mainly women, or couldn't care less at all. Ive heard no derogatory remarks in last few days personally
There has been a lot worse coming out of Scotland and remember in parts of Scotland you can compare to Northern Ireland and only have to see the old firm derby to understand that. Mix in some Scot Nats and you get a toxic mix. But besides the odd idiot in Scotland these last few days Im guessing Sturgeon wouldnt fancy a referendum just now
It wasn’t the poster ristac. It was a Twitter headline I objected. I usually would have ignored and probably should have
So 1000 coppers needed to police 3000 away fans. No wonder you see so many of them standing around doing feck all. The other side of the coin is what does it say about football fans in general that they can’t be trusted and if you think back to the Euro 2020 final at Wembley then it’s really difficult to argue otherwise.
Indeed, agree with you. I’m not Irish but fall very much into the latter category, however, there is no reason to be openly disrespectful and piss off those that care, but those people will be in the minority. Best to ignore, they probably want the publicity.
My how things change back in the bad old days of footy violence I well remember the coppers who used to be at the back of the gelderd where we always stood where as bad as the fans they used to love diving into the throng to apprehend some over boisterous fan for some apparent misdemeanor, they seemed to relish a little Tete a Tete shall we say
Ayling, Bamford, Firpo, Cooper, Gyabi and Perkins are playing for the U21s at ER on Friday. Should be a big crowd…
