If he was the messiah, why didn't he get us promoted in his first season. We were leapfrogged by the Blunts, with their League 1 squad.
Do you think if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it? We've had this conversation several times and we'd decided i am right and the 78m is wrong. Even if it was right what difference does it make. I could give you 2 million a year to sell houses but it wouldn't make you any better at it than you are now. Bielsa got promoted with 90% of the same squad other managers couldn't get promoted with
Leeds lost £62m during 2019-20 season as they won promotion to Premier League By Phil Hay April 4, 2021Updated 2:50 PM GMT+1 Leeds United lost £62 million during the 2019-20 season amid the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Marcelo Bielsa’s side won promotion to the Premier League last season, finishing top of the Championship as they returned to the top flight for the first time in 16 years. What are the key figures from the accounts? Leeds posted an overall loss of £62 million during the campaign, with total administration costs for the club running to a huge £108 million. The wage bill was £78 million, while they handed out £20 million in promotion bonuses. Turnover at Elland Road did leap to £54 million, from £48 million the year prior. This was projected to hit £56 million before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Elsewhere, the accounts confirmed the £23 million investment from 49ers Enterprises, which is the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers. Leeds also took out £43 million in loan funding after the end of the accounting period. Also of note was their increased commercial revenue, which was boosted by £15 million of merchandise sales. There was also a rebate of £7 million paid out to broadcasters. What has been said? Leeds managing director Angus Kinnear said: "Despite the unprecedented operational and financial challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the group won the EFL Championship by 10 points whilst successfully maintaining the group's financial integrity with record commercial growth." Kinnear added: “The primary risk facing the group remains the divisional status of the club’s first team due to the impact on key revenue streams, however we remain confident we have built a commercial model to fund a technical set-up which can ensure Premier League retention.”
Again as before 20m paid out in promotion bonuses included in the 78m. You are happy to believe we are paying a45m relegation bonus but won't believe there was a 20 m promotion bonus
And you can knock another 8m off for national insurance contributions. Do I have to go into to how many players were out on loan with wages being subsidised. No, you don't want to hear it
It reads 78m in wages, PLUS another 20m in bonuses, whilst Millwal spent 13m. Leeds became responsible for the signings of JKA and Costa too during that season, though obviously, one is on-going, and the other we had to pay 15m for.
No it doesn't read that. That is how you want to spin it. Leeds became responsible for selling jansson roofe Clarke that season, what's your point?
There's no need to get so defensive. I'm just making the case that Bielsa, yes he got us promoted, but spent a **** load of money! I do wonder how Managers like Blackwell, McAllister, Grayson or McDermott would have got on, if they had the same kind of money behind them.
Not defensive at all, just hate bullshit to suit an agenda. All those managers inherited a squad as good as Bielsa did. Bielsa then had to sell more players than bought, or rather sold for more money than bought for. Anyway I'm sure we 'll have the same discussion in another couple of months when you bring it up again
jeez Ell… I realise there’s a limitation to your capacity to churn out original clickbait material - but there’s no need to spoil the illusion by being so transparent about the scheduling of your ‘content calendar’
1) Bielsa with all his years of experience and the fitness coaches he has at his disposal, three years of fast flowing football and Bielsa can’t see they’re tired yet Jesse walks in and he can see the players are over trained and look tired in their faces. **** me half of them have underplayed they’ve been on the treatment table so much, how the **** are they tired? Every other day I see images of Phillips at events, golf, darts or wearing clobber that you wonder how he walks in it and if he’s been buying it off Lewis Hamilton yeah he must be exhausted. Get him fit to play FFS. 2) Jesse loves the sound of his own voice far too much, what is it with him when there is a microphone about. 3) ****ing boring, I’d have been glued to it had it been Bielsa, I just wanted the interview to end I’m really not impressed with that interview but thanks for posting mate
