Would be interesting to know the wording in all these 4 year contracts. If it simply says we will pay you £X amount for 4 years then what dumb idiot agreed to give a contract like that. Oh I know Orta enough said.
The 4 yr contracts seem a bit daft, but I remember a few seasons ago posters getting annoyed that the club let the players enter their last year before trying to negotiate a new one. Its as bad as the time we were paying ex players contracts even when they had left..ie Keane/Fowler/ etc etc
Just shows what a sorry state football has got itself into. Personally I don't agree with buying or selling players on the never never but as I said earlier we are where we are.
I have thought along the same lines as you for a long while. I just don't air my opinion so much as you, you always seem to get shot down and targetted for having a different opinion. Recent events at the football club have made me realise more people need their eyes opening to see the ugly truth. These are not the glory years.
Think back then they were given 4 years f £12.5m = £37.5m each year now its 3 years but totals £59.7m which means its all officially a corrupt joke
