Agreed but assuming we gave Pontus the 4 year contract we gave to everyone else, come the end of the season he’ll have three years remaining, we can easily play him for another 18 months before we even consider selling him.

Sit him down, point out his contract obligations, if he gets sulky so be it, he’ll get over it eventually. At least he can get it out the way now, it sends a message out to ALL players and agents. Pontus then has two choices, get dropped and become a forgotten man in the reserves or knuckle down and get on with it trying to win promotion with us rather than being distracted over a possible move.

You only have to set the example once...

WJ I would say this has happened at our club in parts only. There are the older fans that have followed the club from when it was in the old 2nd division and watched it climb to the top of the world game and then see it fall back to old 3rd division status. Those fans will always be there, but in the last dozen years when clubs in the prem were coining it in, we had an owner who may as well have banned all kids from the ground. We lost a whole generation of fans who were priced out of going. Those kids bought Man Utd shirts and followed prem clubs instead of Leeds. We have fans fly in for every home game and some away games. Fans from both sides of the border in Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark ... will never change but there are a lot of fans who have been shat on and who hoped to make it back, they are frustrated thats all

It seems we cannot play against teams that bully us, tonight we will have the chance to prove we can play football. Lets see some intensity and signs of being coached.

Looking through the keek on Newsnow this afternoon the problem we face at Leeds becomes clear - they are referring to our players as "valued at" 2.5m, 4.5 million, while the Fulham guys are "valued at" 22.5m, 40m. Hard to compete or to buy decent english players without parachute payments.

With that in mind, some of these names were new to me:

    https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/m...hat-can-convert-them-into-top-6-contenders/6/

Also suggested elsewhere that Martyn Waghorn would be available for 4m this summer, just the sort of old-fashioned bully-boy number 9 we need. Anybody else think he'd do a job for us?

They were relegated in 2014 Davy. Would they still be collecting parachute payments?

Which ones ? The kids who were priced out of going to Elland Road by Bates ? We should be letting kids in for free.

Probably have been for the past 3 years Eire, though maybe that's not their sole income stream.
