What do you guys think about the suggestion that Pontus is offski after being told not to come back to TA till after the squad have left for Oz?

Are you sure you didn’t get 25 to 1 on England scoring one. Would be far more believable

I hold up my hands and state I was one of those who would have preferred Ronnie to stay and KP to have gone at the time. Things change. Would hate KP to go now, but let's not forget, we have no idea what Bielsa might have done for Ronnie. Possibly what he did for KP?

Over the last few years, English teams visiting the USA during the summer have not brought most, maybe even all, of their players who have been playing international football during the prior few weeks. Not unusual if true.

I would agree if he was sitting on a beach, having a beer and resting up. The fact he is training at Malmo suggests trouble. If he is in training why not at his club?

As I posted on today's thread, earlier today :emoticon-0105-wink: :

Maybe he was on the beach and is now preferring to stay near family and home until he is required back. In the meantime, he is training with his hometown club, of which he is a fan, so he can show up ready to hit the ground sprinting?

I think journos are trying to create a story, but we will find out soon, I expect.

Evening all. Towards the end of the season, Pontus made his feelings known on a few occasions. After QPR game, he pushed Rads aside when he was trying to shake his hand and he made no secret of his disgust at Bielsas stupid gesture at the Villa game. One of my best memories, if he does leave, was battling on in goals when he was badly injured and hobbling up the field to try get a last minute goal. Not many modern day players would have even still have been on the field

He is an emotional player for sure. Prone to outbursts. Doesn't mean he is out the door, but we will find out soon.

Perhaps, Jonny, but the most jarring part of this is that he has apparently been told to report to TA on July 12th, almost immediately after the squad has left for Oz. Why was he not asked to return a couple of days earlier so he too could go to Oz? Bear in mind that ALL of the other internationalists are already at TA! They were ALL allowed an extra week. Why is he receiving 'favourable' treatment?

It’s true, I need someone to explain the offside rule to me with two champagne flutes and a bottle of self tan.

True he has some admirable traits. Not many modern footballers would feign injury from a header either. He’s a complicated lad!

Personally I’m fine with the passionate heat of the moment stuff on the pitch and I like to see players take defeat badly. Think he’s just one of those guys who’s never far from a drama on or off the pitch.
