Even if those figures are half right, with Bielsa shipping most of them out, a man that knows far more about spotting a player than Orta, the success rate of his signings is woeful, so why hasn't Radz sacked him? After all, the fans are beginning turn on him and that's when the owner usually bins the advisor.
Don't disagree with you re. Orta deciding what positions to fill. If you put a comma immediately before the '&' in my second sentence, you'll see it reads better. At some point I imagine TC might have got some input, but by then I think it was too late, Klich being the obvious example of this. Wasted? Not so sure that's fair on all of the players. Perhaps we wasted them, Anita being the case in point. Came to us with a decent CV & looked, well, average at best. Was that his fault, or TC playing him out of position? A different discussion, I guess. Grot? u23 kid bought as a wide attacker, but played in the first team to lead the line simply because of his size. Hmm. It was desperation, and Grot took the hit when it should have been management. Lasogga - too immobile to play upfront on his own. No arguments there ,but the bloke knew where the goal was & proved it. Should we have tried 4-4-2 to accommodate him? Prolly yes, but not his fault we didn't. The Wood & Taylor money? Can't disagree, and even if you showed me the books, I wouldn't know what to look for to prove anything either way. As for Saiz, I don't need to make a declaration on him. I've said many times that I'd be happy for him to leave, as I believe he sometime wastes almost as many chances as Sacko did, given his penchant for running with the ball when he should be laying it off. So many times he takes on one player too many. It does look exciting & 3 managers have been keen on him, so he obviously gives more than I give him credit for (goals & assists being the most obvious, I guess ). PH nailed it when he said he couldn't make him a better player, but he could make him a better team player. He didn't, but I do hope Bielsa does if we don't sell him. Finally, a rejection by Bielsa doesn't mean someone's a bad player - he just doesn't see him fitting into what he's trying to do. There seems to be universal acceptance that Hernandez was a good player, but we dropped our pursuit of him when Bielsa signed up. Does that mean he's a bad player? Of course not!
Sadly, this was not my work - just a copy and paste job from another forum. Orta seemed to divide opinions amongst Boro fans too.
Like about 9 months ago. Radz obviously is a slow burner, a very slow burner, unless of course it's about TV rights.
Well there's a thousand stories on news now (with pictures) of the players we are going to, may be going to sign,
