I personally think that this highlights the fact that another 'keeper is coming in, although it's an odd approach (i.e. the incoming 'keeper's club have just put the price up!). They must surely have something firmed up in the pipeline to be this cavalier. I'm absolutely positive that Caprile will NOT be the backup 'keeper. He's not had any PL game time & is therefore completely untried. No way will the club take that risk. They won't do it for outfield players, far less a specialist position like gk.
I guess with the 23s you’re paying for potential and that potential doesn’t always pay off. I’d imagine all the players you’ve mentioned will get some game time in the cups this season and if they’re good enough it’ll show and we should go through in the early competition’s then those youngsters can start pushing for 1st team places. Greenwood had a go in the cup last season under hard circumstances but looked a fish out of water. I think the 23s can look like outstanding players in the 23s but the step up is huge. I think it’s been said before on here we’ll see lots of 23s but only 1 or 2 will make it at the highest level and when that happens all the lower fees are worth it because that 1 or 2 players pay for the rest.
Interesting but sensible This was something Firpo told on LiveNow [relayed via LeedsLive]. He said: “The first days, Marcelo wants me to train alone to introduce the work because the style of training here is really different from Barcelona and from other teams.”
Shall we spread the net a bit wider and include decent players who helped us win promotion? We can start with Bamford before a ball was even kicked this season if you like. We could include the useless Victor that signed the players and the skint Rads who paid for them. In my defence, I didn't say you were the real deal, I said you are trying hard to be like him
The original one was left of centre for sure, wonder if he has gone all Woke? Anyone on here still in touch with him?
