Haven't a clue who this guy is but like you say at least we have an option Like so many other keepers, it's weird how at 32 years of age you have only played 117 first class games in 12 years. Not knocking us signing him based on that as it's about getting value for money at this stage and I doubt his wages are much
Just get Ben Foster. Not difficult is it. He played PL football last season and was decent. He is out of contract. Happy to be understudy to young keepers whilst pushing them for a place. Is interested in coaching but just not ready to retire from playing yet. Comes across as a really popular guy in the changing room. Full of positivity. Model professional.
Not for me Emu. We need some continuity and the younger guy can still push hard to be a starter as well as staying 3/4 years.
More like second choice I would say. His job will be to sit on the bench for (hopefully) 38 league games, and let Klaesson play the U-21 games.
His problem has been back up to some of the best keepers in Europe and won winners medals in Europe too and even a winners medal in the FA Cup. Think about the keepers who have been behind De Gere etc
I’m hoping to be back on the grass soon myself mate, maybe as soon as tomorrow. Big Brother is staying over tomorrow with his boys and he takes his consumption seriously
Clucking bell...are you telling us there's another one like you out there ? My guess is he's not as good looking and supports Arsenal
We're getting Robli? Was at Everton 4 years ago will be announced next week according to every news outlet.
Kiko came in as a No' 1 on big wages for the Championship. So are you suggesting that this new keeper is going to replace Meslier ? No of course you're not as Jesse has repeatedly said that Meslier is our undisputed first choice keeper. Maybe just be happy we have some experience as cover and get over the fact it's not Ben Foster
It's likely he's probably not to be fair. 3rd goalkeepers are obviously a different breed to the rest of the professional footballing fraternity as they're not really expected to play. Didn't Chelsea sign Rob Green when he was well past his sell by date for example ? Maybe you're right and we should have signed Foster instead...hopefully we never have to find out.
Think its all about bringing in a player who will not push to get the top spot, a certain mentality who can accept his role. Marsch said it himself they needed someone to come in who wouldnt upset the harmony of the keepers
