Our goalie will! Have you seen the new home goalie strip? Even my youngest grandson opted for the green 3rd goalie strip. It was a devil of a job to convince him to put Darlow on his back when he desperately wanted Meslier. We won, & Darlow it is now. Need to go back for his number. It was only when I got home that I realised that we hadn't formally signed him, so had to sweat for a couple of days.
So it’s Thursday and the mad rush of signings has not been imminent enough. So reading through todays big news it seems Saudi want Cooper, messier is on his bike this weekend. Sinisterra has apparently said he’s staying, Shackleton has been told to fook off and will never play for the club again
Oh and Mateo Joseph Fernandez has been seen on crutches, so anyone thinking he will take the place of Bamford or Rutter this weekend can think again. We may end up using an academy kid once he has finished his paper round ffs. Can someone please start signing players we need like a LB a Cb, a AM and a striker ffs
Since we dropped out of the Premier League in 04 I've never been worried about the up and coming season. The 10 years the championship last time. I twas going in to each season thinking we'd get promoted. We are 3 days away from Cardiff and I think to myself **** me we're screwed. I can't see us getting near the play offs. I can't see this squad lasting 12 months before they jump.ship apart from.Darlow and Emedeau. Them you get these maniacs running around screaming if we keep XYZ we'll pass this League. We'll be 1st. No we won't cos XYZ won't stay at the club. There's a Euros in less than 12 months or the 49ers will see £ and sell players to other clubs.
My own personal prediction is that we'll finish 3rd but of course I've no idea really until we start playing a few games and see how we perform. As stated previously the hope is we can stay in contention until after xmas and then push on. What I'm definitely not expecting is to walk anything as we all know how tough this league can be. Mainly what I'm looking for in the first few weeks is that we're playing a style of football that can win matches and if we can't win then we don't lose. That said of course there will be defeats and disappointments along the way, as usual though it will be how we react and bounce back that matters more than the odd defeat.
