It's a natural consequence of the deeply felt hatred of that club Ristac. Most Leeds fans I know feel the same (although I have met the odd few that hold the same view as you. And I mean "odd" in the literal sense of the word !). Frankly, I still haven't got over Arthur Graham signing for them. Different when players come the other way, and when that happens they are usually players that are surplus to (their) requirements and sometimes turn out to be right gems (Giles and Strachan being the most prominent examples). When it's them nicking our players they tend to be good ones (Jordan, McQueen, Cantona).
Someone was stupid enough to pay 18m for Augustin so there are fools out there willing to pay silly money
40 ! Blimey, might be a better chance of me getting a ticket if I join an Irish Leeds supporters club and fly out to Ireland first on the way to Leeds next season.
In fairness to these lads they’re 20 doing these trips so have more than served their apprenticeship watching varying kinds of rubbish over the years as well as the good stuff. There’s quite a few supporters clubs over here we’ll represented at most games and lots of season ticket holders also. Many of the newer fans are taking up a lot of the tickets these days I suspect
I don't think they are worth it. However, if West Ham have put a price of 150 million on Rice and Phillips is ahead of him for England (or was last season) then it seems a fair deal.
Players are only worth what someones willing to pay. West Ham did that to ward other clubs off. Somebody valued Augustin at 20m. Was he worth it or was Jack Clarke worth 10m. All irrelevant if players aren't replaced with as good or better. Would be hard finding another Philips or Raphinha at whatever money
Got no problem with it Eire, I was only having a laff ! You're right, since Bielsa arrived and especially now playing Prem football I a lot of new fans, or more likely "lapsed" Leed fans I suspect, are now in the frame trying to get tickets. The first time I noticed the real surge was for the Norwich game in Bielsa's first season. I only got tickets by the skin of me teeth and after that the club changed the policy to one ticket per member so I had to get my son a membership after that as well. I've been to a few games this season, let's hope we stay up and get the stadium capacity increased.
