Afternoon all Hate Friday night games (unless we win of course) it risks ruining my entire weekend and Friday will be ruined worrying that my weekend will be ruined
Phillips has been out of form since his England call up, I am not defending him on that but I think he gets a rough deal over the corners... It doesn't matter who takes them it is the lack of height and quality in the box that is preventing the goals. Last season there were several that landed straight to Bamford and he missed each time. We're just poor as a unit at taking corners. Bielsa is a world class coach, if the problem with corner taking was all down to Phillips do we really believe Bielsa would allow him to continue to take them into his third consecutive season? We just have to accept we're not good at them and for some reason Bielsa hasn't put it high on the list of something we should work at or he has and we just haven't the quality to make them work
A guy on Twitter has posted about work going on at ER to bring us up to speed with PL requirements, new floodlights currently being put in and when asked if he could see anything else he replied: "Yeah loads. New LUTV studios, new Sky compound, new media suite in West Stand for press conferences (nowhere near finished), new interview booths in the tunnel, camera pits behind the goals, new press box. COVID distorts it all though because it's all temporary and dis-organised
Anyone see Roofes goal for rangers... If you can find it elsewhere online you need to watch the 5 seconds leading up to the shot, he took on a couple of players and beat both before getting that shot off
TBF Eire we all know Roofe is a decent enough striker, but at the time we didn't want to pay him what he thought he was worth and we certainly didn't know we'd be promoted to the Prem. So he chose to move downwards and get more money. Ironic though if he'd shown some loyalty he'd be in a better League with a better bank balance. Yes I know most players think of their wallets than loyalty and yes we can't blame them for this, but in this case as Jim Bowen used to say, just look at what you could have won.
Pity we couldn't have flogged Forshaw, Douglas and Roberts to balance the books though instead of Roofe maybe
Firstly Elland the new players have to learn the Bielsa way and we don't, well not yet have the luxury of being able to spend silly money like Villa and lash the players straight in. Comparing Smith to Bielsa is like comparing Philips to Batty. Also I don't believe in this kicking the ball out ****e, unless it's a head injury, but even then it's the refs decision. Hourihane and that ponce grealish should have been sent off. I don't think they got in trouble even when the powers that be watched the incident afterwards. I detest villa, their players and their backroom staff. I hope we get something out of this.
Shaks it really pisses me off when play is stopped for what is so obviously not a head injury especially when we've got a speedy counterattack going and 5 minutes later the tart who was 'injured' is running around with nothing wrong with him Bet we see that a few times tonight against these cheating ****s.
After that Villa game, did the club not make a statement saying they would play to the whistle from then on and not stop play unless the ref makes that decision ?
