Relegation can't be that bad, there's some on here who believe teams try to achieve it every other season.
The goal difference will be key for me I can see it being the breaker and unfortunately it's ours that's the chasm, and like losing on penalties like the Gers last night it's the worst way to drop, I'd rather go down on points than that ......as the song goes, whatever will be will be
I'm absolutely amazed you can see any positives here. On top of losing 54m, we'll probably have to pay Leipzig 18m for JKA. We are going to lose our Crown Jewells for next to nothing whilst Chelsea get to sell Conor Gallagher for 50m, around the same we'll get for Raphinha and Phillips together! This more or less puts us back at stage one.
We will know how the land leis at 10pm tonightAs for a wasted 2 seasons i feel that we entertained a lot of fans throughout the countryso let hope lady luck looks kindly at us
Tuchel said yesterday, Gallagher will be in his first team squad next season, they're losing a few on free transfers and there's no funds to buy.
Does anyone think the government will let Chelsea sink if they don't meet next Tuesday's deadline, or will they get a reprieve
No help for Bury but Chelsea will be given a lifeline. I presume whoever makes the decision, is waiting for a thicker brown envelope, then it will be all smokescreens and lies
If we go down get used to seeing our first team squad look like this: Klaesson/Caprile Ayling/Drameh Cooper/Cresswell/Struijk/Hjelde Davies Kenneh/Dallas/Klich/Greenwood/Bate/Gray, Forshaw James/Harrison/Summerville Gelhardt Losing Koch, Bamford, Meslier, Llorente, Rodrigo, Raphinha, Firpo
I’m with the ‘enjoying the ride’ boys at the moment. Much rather be watching matches caring about the result… well until we lose and get relegated! This ‘black hole’ in the finances is a none-story. When we’re in the championship, everyone is on lower wages/bonuses… we don’t have to pay out the ‘staying in the premier league’ bonus pot. All clubs these days structure contracts and wage bills to match the division. Yes it’s better to be in the PL.. obviously it’s much better to get market rate for Raphinha etc. But it’s not like our income drops and our costs remain the same. Far from it.
I think you're being optimistic there Wouldn't be surprised to see Drameh go back to Cardiff permanently. Cresswell goes to a 'bigger club' as Scum and the scousers have been sniffing around him. Struijk will be bought by a lower Prem club. Klich I've read will be gone in the summer. Forshaw probably will be released. Waste of a wage. James will prob hand in a transfer request. Then you need to think that Cooper, Ayling, and Dallas are on the wrong side of 30 now. I wouldn't be surprised if clubs will start sniffing around the younger lot as well. ALSO REMEMBER THERE'S A WORLD CUP THIS YEAR.... it will affect the players thinking
As mentioned above Phillips will go as well. Wouldn’t be surprised about Harrison and Struijk going as well, maybe even James. Leicester were looking at James before we bought him and Tottenham have been touted to be looking at Harrison.
Re. the relegation loss, does it include the £48m stay up bonus not being paid out? Had a nightmare for the Brighton game. We left port with Leeds 1-0 down, with 16 minutes to go. At sea without a connection until we docked again on Tuesday. Talk about wound up! We leave port at six tonight, so only have to agonise until tomorrow this time around. Lucky me, eh? Btw, sat next to a Barca fan on the way over. He says that there is absolutely no chance that Rafinha is going to them. They can't even afford another lavvie cleaner!
