For those interested in facts, heaven forbid <laugh>. Over a season… most muscle injuries happen in pre-season, when they’re getting fit. I guess the World Cup is a mini pre-season after a bit of a lay off so it’s a really unusual year.

Then the longer into the season you go, due to fatigue and wear and tear, the more injuries start to accrue again. So in theory without a World Cup this should be a relatively quiet time for injuries but has been seemingly not great last year and this.

At the risk of being a stuck record… you can’t completely discount wear and tear on players from the bielsa years impacting on players now. Not blaming bielsa just that some of these players have simply never got fit.

And what injuries do we actually have? A fair few are impact based which has nothing to do with any training regime. Two of them are viruses and a fair few we simply haven’t had any by update on, so we don’t really know.

Might be worth waiting til we get an update before the wrist slitting begins.

How about. We don’t know if there’s a problem. And if there is, it could be no one’s fault. Controversial thought, I know. <laugh>
