I guess he needs to prove he is better than Alioski? I personally don’t see why we have both Douglas and Alioski on the bench, Alioski can cover three positions. I’m not sure who the two strikers on the bench are either. Going by what Bielsa said his two midfielders are Alioski and Shackleton?
Firstly, I understand the point. Its something that's rattled around my head too. However, I came to the conclusion that it doesn't make much sense. We currently have a keeper who is costing us at least a goal every other game, at least. What we are saying is that we can't drop him in case the other goalkeepers also make the same mistakes. Therefore the conclusion is to keep playing the original keeper who we already know makes a lot of mistakes? Seems crazy to me!
I think we have to assume that Bielsa is playing the strongest team he has available We may disagree but he is the guy in the hot seat and I don’t think for one moment he is playing the favourites game Ask yourself this question would you play a favourite to the detriment of the team when results are not going your way Sorry if this sounds too positive for some but I think there is more to it than Bielsa just playing his favourites
I've no doubt he thinks he is picking his best 11. Begs the question of what the hell we were doing in January though if the back up is that inferior? Someone has f**ked up somewhere.
A few days ago, Bielsa was asked about the team lacking in confidence, he said he agreed. He was asked how does he turn that around, how does he install confidence back, he replied “by believing in the players himself and keeping faith with them”.
I said i felt we needed an experienced keeper on loan in jan. Kiko had moved into liability mode in December. It seemed a big ask to put all your eggs in a promising if untried (by us) teenager. But Bielsa likes a small squad and orta likes speculating on the future so we got an 18 year old keeper in instead. All this seems to prove is Bielsa lacks confidence in Meslier. There can’t be any other logical reason. He was happy throwing BPF under a bus over Blackman getting injured. Good for him to learn errors had consequences and get back to the training field out of the limelight ready to fight another day blah blah. BPF had made some clangers... but not to the degree we’re witnessing with kiko costing points on a weekly basis. Positive performance from the lads on Tuesday. The goalkeeping situation is a shambles. And that’s putting it mildly.
Victor Orta again I get the distinct feeling that our January window was all about playing the numbers game
With you. Simply stating a line of thinking that Bielsa may be using to plough his lone furrow. Didn't say I agreed with it! I for one have confidence in Meslier, but what if he gets injured & Kiko's head has shut down for the season? Then again, how old was Carson when he made his debut in the PL?
I'm surprised at these ratings averages. When I got to Phillips, I was sure it was drawn up by Captain Jackboot, but then noticed there were other incomplete ones..... https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...yy0aRryJVxM7TRUMbpX7LMQK7Y_jY5NecBN8kVTYcg9UM
Phillips saying the team are behind Kiko ..... https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...s-full-support-1555549?itm_source=parsely-api
I for one have never understood our second half of the season slump. Can’t be blamed on Bielsa. It’s happened since our league 1 promotion season when we nearly blew it. Our first season back in the championship when we top around Christmas right through to falling out of the playoffs under monk to last season under Bielsa and again now when we looked in such good shape at Christmas. I just don’t get it because we never seem to regain early season results.
The kid from Brum is only 16, still doing A levels, and they reckon he'll move for 50m next season. Jaden Sancho is being touted at 100m and he's only 19. As they say, if you're good enough, you're old enough.
Well he ain't gonna get bloody injured sat on the bench , still if we don't get promotion at least we won't hurt poor Kiko's feelings & won't need to spend out on counselling.
Bellingham is the lad from Brum. Talksport were saying he is like Gerrard but his younger brother looks even better.
