Agreed but only if fit. We didnt get to see much of Bamford and Brown is no more than a punt in the hope he regains his form to play some pmeaningful part in season. We need decent fit signings and well and good if the other two figure then thats a bonus. Pinning hopes on injured players has a lot of dangers attached
Evening all, A difficult game against the Wendies but if we are to take a draw I would prefer 0-0 but I'm hoping for a 0-1. It would be good all round to have a clean sheet
Morning wf10, I'd have felt a lot better if it had meant slotting either Hernandez or Roofe back into our squad.
Morning Eire, surely not the case with Brown. Brown's been talking to the press this week, and he's been pictured using the leg strengthening devices at Leeds Beckett Uni. This would have been instigated by the PR department at the club. They would only do this when the player is approaching his come back. Brown was free of his injury when he joined us - all he had to do is to regain his fitness. Sure, he hadn't kicked a ball in 8 months, but at the age of 22/23 Brown is naturally fit anyway. I'd be amazed if we has not played for the u23's in the next 2 / 3 weeks
Morning Gessa, I agree with you about BPF. I expected Blackman to be better then he actually is. The season is young yet, and Blackman got very positive plaudits from the Blunts fans
As you know mate, I'm not a fan of the loan system and one of the reasons is, I believe some good players get disillusioned and disinterested with the game, being made to play here and there, they get no sense of belonging, these issues cause dips in form and consequently players going down the leagues. Could be the issue with Blackman.
Eire/Elland I think I can settle this by saying Brown is almost ready to start playing football in training. That means at least 3 weeks maybe 4 doing ball routines with the physio department and kids so thats October done with. He then needs to start learning his role in Bielsaball and training with the first team. It will be at least the start if December before he is fit enough to do the Bielsaball and also know the role he is to play and have practised it with the first team. I think he will be on the bench before Xmas
My view is the same in that the primary objective is do not lose this game but in order to believe that we are a better team than this time last season we need to win so we can see progression. It isn't the end of the world if we draw bearing in mind it is Wednesday away but do need proof that we are better than last season by winning.
I will be on and off intermittently from tomoz, as I'm off to Spain for a weeks golf. If wifi works I will check in from time to time but will struggle keeping the Loan Watch and Opposition Watch posts up to date. Anyone is free to go in and update the posts if they want to but failing that I will sort them out when I get back. My prediction for the next 3 games is: 1-3 Leeds, 0-4 Leeds and 3-2 Leeds. Think that will ensure we are still top when I get back
Saw something earlier on another site about Ronny Viera not actually playing much in Italy. I looked at it and discovered he has only played 26 minutes for Sampadoria in Seria A, but read a piece from the club and manager as well as the clubs agent. Ronny is one for the future and will play a big part later in the season, he has been described as a player who gets into the game for a full 90 minutes and attracts the ball, nothing fancy just common sense stuff but a fantastic prospect for CM for someone so young.
