If Brentford decide to sell Pontus at any given time I suspect they'll double the fee they paid for him
If they are bottom half at Xmas expect the **** to hit the fan, when Jannson realises he's going no where.
The thing is I don't think it will, Brentford financed the Jannson signing by selling a young defender for twice as much, when I thought selling Maupay was on the cards, if Maupay stays I can see Brentford being a serious threat this season, infact if they sell him for the £20m being touted they could afford some quality signings and still have money in the bank to strengthen in january if need be.
FFS, are we still going on about the fee for Pontus? Isn't it clear that no-one wanted him? Only 1 UK club was prepared to pay out £5.5m. No-one knows what we asked for, but £5.5m is all we got. It is ridiculous to think that PL clubs were not made aware. Any common-or-garden agent would have made them aware, but the agent of a diva who thought he was better than he actually was most certainly would, without prompting. So can we put it to bed now?

If Jansson was being touted about to other clubs don't you think we would have heard about it? Seriously, 37 clubs, Managers, owners, personal assistants, secretaries - you don't think one of those people would have said anything either down the pub, facebook or twitter?
Don't know Ell but why then is it Brentford were the only one's, why were they the only one's told, after all, there was supposed interest from abroad, how did they get to hear and not British clubs.Lot of folk on holiday then, chairman to manager "interested in Pontus Jansson"? ,"no ta" no one else needs know.
And following this line of thought, how long was the Brentford rumour out there before they made an offer? Be lucky if it was a day. And why did we rush it through quicker than any other sale/signing? In case they changed their mind, of course. The £5.5 signing was very public before anything was signed, so any club could have intervened, especially at such a 'low' price. Don't you realise that it was low for a reason? We were desperate to offload - and no-one else was interested. That simple. So why all of the mystery & conspiracy theories? He was there to be bought & no-one else was interested. TBH, can't think of many PL clubs with a defence poor enough to want him.
In regards to Pontus, if I was an owner of a club and an agent came to me and asked if I wanted him as Leeds have told him to find a new club I’d want to know why, what’s he done wrong? You don’t sell a player that made team of the season for no reason. As it happens the rumours of his naughty antics wouldn’t bother me, he needs a hard line coach to put I’m in his place, I wonder with Pontus if Bielsa using an interpreter made it less apparent as to how annoyed Bielsa was getting. I commented several weeks back on an interview I watched. A Leeds player was asked what’s it like to work under Bielsa, he said Bielsa demands silence at half time as he talks for the full 15 minutes, the player had started to speak once and Bielsa blasted them to shut up, it was his turn to speak now, the player giving the interview was Pontus. I’ll see if I can find it on Youtube as with hindsight I bet there are a few tell tail signs
