I can just about understand why in real time the penalty was given but how anyone, especially an ex pro ref, can say it was after a replay is laughable. He also defended the Brentford player not being yellowed like Ayling because he let the play go on. What utter bull.?
Pearce has been classed as part of the 4 kids that Bielsa sees as learning this season. He said Pearce, Shacks, Edmondson & Nessy were in his main squad but Nessy injured again so Clarke steps up. Pearce has actually played a couple of times this season as a sub and expect a better more complete player next season
Dean Ashton: certainly thinks no penalty With the scores level at Elland Road, Brentford forward Watkins found himself one-on-one against Bailey Peacock-Farrell before tumbling over the goalkeeper’s desperate dive. There was certainly contact between Watkins and Peacock-Farrell but Ashton believes this was a classic case of the former Exeter City youngster ‘looking for it’.
Usually seen as 'good' referring to let play go on then book the player for the foul once the attack is over, so yes you're 100% right utter bull (rule for Leeds players only??)
Mending well but it is a boring process as still can't drive for another 4 weeks and signed off until 5th November. Only option is to walk which is encouraged or bus which I don't do!
Only speculation but reading that Bielsa has informed Orta that come January he needs a new CB, Left Wing and Center Forward, he doesn't feel Tyler Roberts is best suited through the middle.
Is that why Orta was wanting to punch the bloke on his right when we scored on Saturday, was he the finance director
Especially as he let play go on, until we cleared Watkins shot, before giving the penalty and booking bpf .
You & me both pal, even with the sky interviewer practically saying christ look at that properly you blind tw**he was having none of it.
Didn’t he recently say he had Roberts down as a winger and was apologetic he hadn’t spotted his attributes as a striker?
The refs were also told to crack down on shirt/short pulling, but that's gone out the window. Our game against midds being a good example.
Dermot Gallagher is a ****, it tells you all you need to know about the standard of English refs when that twat was regarded as one of the best, it doesn't surprise me he defends that useless bastard we had at Elland Road on Saturday, they all stick together, they have no integrity, and deserve zero respect, Pontus was spot in his interview after the game
Born in Dublin and yet refereed a Republic v Russia game and supports the Republic of Ireland Football team.
To be fair to Gallagher though he was ok when he refereed Leeds matches In 2001 he was demoted from the PL list of referees for failing to send off Leeds United's Robbie Keane for pushing Beckham in the face and only issuing a yellow card And a few years later in an FA Cup tie at Selhurst Park he failed to award Palace a goal when the ball was at least a yard over the line (and it was, I was right in line with it ) with Leeds eventually winning the game 2-1 At one stage Gallagher had refereed something like 15 Leeds United games with Leeds never ending up as the losing side EDIT: just looked it up, it was 18 successive unbeaten games stretching over 6 years Gallagher was known as Leeds United's 'lucky referee'
