Sorry for my late response but I have been spending my time looking for this loadsa money you talk about. All I can find is that Radz said we would be selling some of our top players to realise some cash In place of we substitute he
So we await our new coach Mr Jesse Marsch to be issued a work permit and hopefully that will only take a day or two. The fact is though Jesse will have very limited time to do anything before we head to Leicester (Sat) and then two massive home games the following week against Villa (Thurs) and Norwich (Sun). Seems the hierarchy are hoping that a change of face/voice will be enough for the players to up their games as we enter a critical run of games. You almost feel sorry for the poor fella as anything less than 4 points from those games and the pressure will increase tenfold. On the other hand a couple of wins would see him off to a fantastic start. The more you think about this change of coach it just wreaks of desperation and is therefore a massive gamble. As plenty on here have pointed out the time to panic was in January by getting the cheque book out and strengthening the squad. That home defeat against Newcastle was definitely the turning point (for both clubs) and if we'd had a bit extra on the playing front it just may have tipped the balance in our favour.
The turning point in the Newcastle game was Roberts giving the ball away needlessly which lead to a Llorente foul and Shelvey's goal. We were comfortable up to that point. As you said, that changed both our seasons. Roberts should not have been on the pitch and that was Bielsa's choice.
lack of a striker and a defence like a bunch of schoolkids.....that should be easy enough for a competent manager to assess
