To be fair to Marsch he at least attempted to play the beautiful game in a different way. Make of that what you will but all the back and sideways possession based football that sometimes sends fans to sleep can definitely be improved upon.
Hopefully they don’t get their new manager in before Fridays game. Don’t want any risk of the new manager bounce.
Scenario everton get relegated this season and Leeds get promoted to premier , everton still want to pay 30m for gnonto sell him then to everton in the championship , I think everton would still want gnonto in the championship andstill pay 30m
That would be funny but I wonder if we’re rushing Gnonto out the door a bit quick probably due to the badly timed transfer request. We’ve carried shacks poveda Gelhardt etc for several seasons and nobody calling for them to be sold despite none of them making the slightest Progress. I wouldn’t mind Willy doing another season to see can he improve
He's coming back from an injury, he just needs to get back to full fitness but if he agitates for a move in January I'd be tempted to sell rather than unsettling the rest of the squad when we need to focus on promotion.
Maybe gnonto does not want to improve as he wanted away , I bet if we don't sell him in January he will try to play better as he will know he is not getting transfered. I notice how after helping italy win he suddenly says his hamstring hurts , so he can't play for us , just hope everton get relegated and we get promoted and then we sell him to play in the championship, it would be good for that to happen.
Do we really want to buy Spence? I read somewhere that he's out again for another 8 weeks. Why would we want to sign another sicknote? We've got enough of our own. As for sell-on fees, would we get away with setting a loan fee of £30m for Gnonto, with a further £1m buy option at the end of the loan? Don't think the Swiss would be happy with that, but could we legally do that?
On CAS rulings so far, the answer would be a qualified no. The only way around it would be if the the transfer agreement between ourselves and the Swiss club specifically said that loan fees in respect of Gnonto were not subject to any "sell on" percentage. How confident would you feel that our previous regime included such a clause ?
Wow! So loan fees have a sell-on deduction too, if we loan out a player (with said clause)? That has never occurred to me.
It's never been brought up as a case with FIFA, but given that loan fees still require registration fees and consolidation payments to be made made to other clubs, the articles I've read suggest that unless there was a specific clause saying that a loan fee is not subject to any sell on clause, then its considered that FIFA/UEFA would side against whichever club was trying to play the system by doing exactly what you suggested.
Some good points raised , have we got enough cover at right back ? If so there must be others on spurs books we can go for , and gnonto decision can wait till end of season .
It's the usual leeds buying cracked players look at Rutter his goal record before coming was 2 goals in 15 matches so we buy him when we needed a goal scorer
