I've been saying that for ages now, let Bamford be the link up man for an out and out striker. I think our defence and midfield are good so if we can get our attack sorted we should be ok. But again I'll say it, why drop willy for Firpo to warm the bench.<grr>

The trouble is with each defeat it drags us closer and closer to the drop zone. We out played Arsenal at times and still lost. Since we hammered Chelsea it seems we've gone backwards. You can't legislate for one of your players ****ing up, but I really believe we've had some shocking officials and VAR. <grr>

If....if....if...if...****ing if.....if I wasn't on holiday at the moment I would be down at giving the current leaders a good test with nothing in return and as one gunners fan admitted they shouldn't have left with a win, but I am on hols so if I don't want to wallow in the usual Monday blues then I ain't.....if only again eh

8 I believe. I was just responding to the perception that his hit rate from the spot is poor.

2 missed in 8 is not great. 1 miss in 7 before yest is not bad

If we'd been winning Firpo could have been that man to come on and see the game out

That was some game yesterday, i think it had everything and it showed the league that maybe we are not an easy push over as some teams might think.
Rodrigo's crossfield pass was unforgivable, and i hope JM pulled him off for it and replaced him with Bamford.
Bamford.......... made a big difference when he came on, no denying that, BUT you have to put penalties away.
Sinisterra is an handful and he pushed Harrison more into the middle, Harrison was pissed off in my eyes.
Adams/Roca...... total quality, Roca did a number on Odegaard very nicely indeed, in fact he reminds me a little of Giles, now he crocked many in his time.
Kristensen is improving every game, settling in nicely and is a unit of a player.
Koch, best defender in the club, should be captain for me.
Meslier, this lad at times makes my piss boil, he has improved drastically, then on basics he lets himself down, you have to stand tall especially the angle Sako had.
Summerville, U23's or out on loan....... i think Ossett town are looking for a player or two.
Gnonto....... mystified where he is, what's the status over him, last time out he scored for U23's and game before that he was playing for Italy????

The Ref, what a shambles the EFA are in, or is there a conspiracy towards Leeds United, i cannot in the life in me believe some of the decisions, the one in injury time was a prime example, Bamford run into Gabriel, he in turn lashed out and retaliated, yellow for Bamford, Red for Gabriel, no penalty, Kavanagh nearly last total control of the game at the end.

I really think some team is going to get a good hiding in the very near future, just hope its festa on Thursday.

A word about Jesse and his tactics yesterday which he got spot on.

    First half we played a 4-3-3 of;

    Rasmus, Koch, Coops, Struijk
    Arronson, Tyler, Roca
    Rodrigo, Harrison, Sinisterra

That worked well as we mostly contained Arsenal.

Second half he switched it to 4-2-3-1

    Rasmus, Koch, Coops, Struijk
    Tyler, Roca
    Harrison, Arronson, Sinistera
    Bamford

The subtle change of formation and positioning really worked...so well done Jesse <applause>

Glad you wrote that, thought I was going mad in noticing good change of formation and use of subs. Anyone seen updated 'VAR is evil and out to get LUFC' stats since yesterday?

Thats 25%. Messi has a 20% penalty miss rate, albeit, 30 misses from 145 taken.

Completely agree. A striker to my old school way of thinking is someone who's main jobs are to help create but most importantly score goals. Any team aiming above mid table finish needs someone to bang in 15 goals a season or thereabouts. As things stand its unlikely any of ours will make double figures even this season and if were still in pl, were likely start next season with the same ones. Beggars belief

2 missed in 8 would be close to average... 75% success rate
xg for a penalty is 76%

Figs i have though is he's missed 3 in 8 for leeds so that would be 62%... 2 fairly poorly struck penalties saved against qpr and millwall in the champ, and missing the target yesterday

I hate anytime we don't score a penalty and I can forgive the taker if the keeper makes a good save, but whats completely pisses me off is missing the target.<grr>

Don’t disagree shaks. I’m from the ‘hit the target, put your laces through it’ penalty taking school. At that distance you have to hit the keeper for him to save it. And if you do, so be it.

Whack it upper centre is the best place - as long as it's on target. Keepers invariably dive low to right or left. Low centre there's a risk of hitting the keepers feet. Too many players try and place it neatly into a corner.
