On my only trip to their ground i was living in Hampshire at the time, I was m mmmeeting up at the ground and made my way by local train and suddenly 20 of them got on. All of them as wide as they were tall with (in my imagination) hands trailing on the ground. They were talking like I imagine Neanderthals would: ‘me hungry’, ‘we win today’ etc. As you can imagine, I kept very quiet.
Hampshire whites, yes based Basingstoke though I know that’s prob not what you meant It was a suburban train in London I’d changed onto, full of ‘wall fans, no idea where it was now.
on reflection the odds weren’t fair. You should have tied one arm behind your back before doing the Leeds salute with the other.
Basingstoke is a London overspill town and a lot of Millwall fans were relocated there in the late sixties/early seventies, I've known a few of them over the years. In 1978 eight of them lost their lives in a car crash going to Southampton. Footballers remember crash victims | Daily Echo
