Is it just because he got lucky with Bielsa though ? On the other hand, if we'd appointed Nigel Pearson maybe we'd have been promoted by now. Actually, scrap that thought...if he'd retained Monk we might be enjoying our second season in the PL already.
What's really required is Glory back on here to provide a fully rounded argument for why Radz is a cheapskate/chancer. It's not really true that he's LL is it ???
I wanted Alex Neil or Pearson, I didn’t particularly want Bielsa until I heard some of the other dross we were being linked with. I think you’re right, we got Bielsa, he shocked everyone so Radz is having one more go. I’m frustrated at things at the moment with our wheels getting wobbly but player wise, we never really used Clarke or Nketiah so nothing has changed on the pitch. The players have lost a bit of confidence that’s all. Poor performances/results have seen us slip a little, not Radz I think it is terrible planning to be left with one striker, I find it hard to believe we are anywhere near the ffp limit but if I wear my Radz is a good guy hat... Bielsa said keep hold of Phillips, he gave the instruction to sell a “disruptive” Pontus, he said get me Clarke back on loan, get me Harrison back here, get me White and Costa. Radz did everything that was asked by his coach, Bielsa even wanted Nketiah. We’re all frustrated fans scared it might not happen, we want a magical signing, we want to point fingers of blame. I can’t wait for the QPR game, if the players put it right they might start believing again too.
I think you have to get lucky in this game. Radz was a tv rights guy and knew nothing about football. He put his faith in vic... who word from boro was a bit of a control freak... and they set about doing a Seville model... with a danish guy who did a nice PowerPoint. The first year was... let’s say a learning curve. I give big credit to orta for aiming high and delivering on bielsa... because it meant giving up a lot of his control. Unfortunately the club suffered financially from that first year and eleven sports’ troubles compounded things. so lucky or inspired with bielsa? ... it looked like a hell of a punt but it’s come very close to paying off so fair play if it does... what perhaps is lucky for radz is that bielsa looks at the team and having players he can improve - where most managers would be screaming for a transfer kitty. So the timing has been great for him from that perspective. But both radz and bielsa will be judged by how this season ends.
Good post and I preferred Pearson at that time as well. Glory wanted Mick McCarthy...deserved a ban just for that in my opinion.
Of course he's LL, are you the only one who doesn't know that? Sorry if I've offended either of you, no malice intended.
Alioski's been playing LB, Costa hasn't been starting every game and Klich took on role of play maker when Pablo was injured. Bamford is not a striker at this level.
Got a funny feeling our season ended when we threw a 3 goal lead away against Cardiff to be honest milky. All the belief seems to have drained out of us, and I mean fans as well as players. Lose on Saturday to Qpr and I'd say that's definitely it for our autos push. Brentford have got momentum and most importantly they don't seem to lose that if they draw or lose the odd game, so why do we. Think as I've said before were just not mentally tough enough, watch the p,aye rs next time we concede every one of the just turn back to the half way line heads down and amble back to get into position. No bollockings no blame just a meagre acceptance that we've conceded again. Hand on heart I can't see us picking a point up in the next two games, I dont think the wheels are wobbling like Ristac said I think one has already come off and the others are working their way loose quickly.
referring to expected goals stats, LL. just a measure of whether a player is taking their chances... factoring in how difficult they were. bamford’s xg is poor this season, but the ‘supporting cast’ haven’t been that efficient either.
Brentford have lost 9, we've lost 5, but yes, they're looking good at the moment, whereas we look great one match and not so the next
Just to pick you up on a minor point, I actually think the lack of bollocking/blaming is a positive & part of Bielsaball. Bielsa maintains that conceding should not be attributed to individual mistakes as they attack & defend as a team. He promotes the ability to put such disappointments behind you & find 'solutions' (i.e. goals) to counter the situation. So it's actually a positive, not a negative. Just thinking on it, I wonder if that might be part of the problem with Edmondson. Not sure if you remember, but I reported back that he went mental in the tunnel at the rest of the team at half time over at Dull. At the time, I was most impressed with his passion, analysis & bravery at taking on the team. Now that you've raised this point, I'm wondering if displays like that work against him. Possibly 2+2=22, I admit.
