Those of you who read some of my posts last night may have deduced I'm running out of patience with Radrizani. To be honest I don't care about players missing chances, or making mistakes as that's just football. Obviously I'd prefer they didn't but I truly believe they are all giving the absolute maximum. Mr Radrizani however, is not giving the maximum...maybe it's all going on behind the scenes and I'll owe him an apology in a few days. To be honest the bare minimum he has to fund is a striker, proven at our level or above. Obviously not easy to achieve in the January window but with only one striker at the club it's not even open to debate is it ?
He’s done some good and some not so good but I lost patience with him last January. He didn’t sieze the day then and subsequently asset stripped in the summer behind the cloak of ffp. He managed by hope not by logic. I think the real reason is he was skint but didn’t want to dilute his share. By his own admission he overspent under vic’s guidance in year 1 and when eleven sport hit hard times he didn’t have a pot to piss in. TOMA anyone?
Something has to be happening behind the scenes, surely Bielsa isn’t going to allow the same slip as last season, we only seem to find out at the last minute who is coming in, just hope it’s a quality striker, play Bamford at No. 10 role, drop Costa... very disappointed with this player. Meisler has to be on Bielsa mind, he isn’t stupid but if he keeps playing Casilla then there is a question mark, it’s time to be ruthless to make promotion. I didn’t say anything after the Arsenal game but Bielsa’s substitutions unbalanced the team and they run riot in midfield, ok Gotts looked lost so he had to come off but the replacements and team formation was all over the place after the subs, just saying.
Neither was I said when he first took over that I thought he was a chancer and I haven’t seen anything to make me change my mind this also includes his side kick Orta
It was at a Holiday Village Hotel in Lanzarote. He was the star turn one night. To be fair, I went down to the local bar and watched Leeds vs Salford then went back to see all the milfs running round the stage.
A much more balanced post than some of the hysterical stuff that's appeared over the last few days. Well done. People forget that our manager is El Loco, who has a history of ultimatum. Basically, if Bielsa wants something this month & doesn't get it, he'll be off. Radz is well aware, as is Orta & will be turning cartwheels to deliver. But the doom & gloomers would rather just spout shyte about Radz. Totally unfounded, of course, but carefully contrived to give them something to moan about. As though an astute man would throw tens of millions out of the window for the sake of a few more million invested - and losing the PL prize & its fantastic return (and sales opportunity!). Cheers, Doha, nice to get a bit of calm amongst the effeminate panic shrieking.
Well know in a couple of weeks either way. At this time beginning to look like glory was right WJ. Did he mention that Saturday
we had this debate last year WJ... you pointed out you’d heard he’d been begging for cash in the bar! My beef was how the transfer window was handled last year. We only went after James when we’d done a deal to get casilla with no cash up front... we were clearly skint. Could say not his fault he was skint... but could point out that better management by him/Orta would not have left us in that position. Personally I find it hard to believe he couldnt have got the cash had he been prepared to take a hit on his investment. But my view is he thought we were top of the league and we’d get home without it. That’s not the same as your suggestion that only an idiot would not put the investment in, to secure a bigger prize. There are no guarantees either way and he didn’t have the cash. He rolled the dice by not rolling the dice... hoped to get the deals in anyway on the cheap. if you think no businessman has ever done that? It happens on a daily basis in businesses big and small across the country. As for bielsa walking? He walks if he’s fed false promises. Here, what radz/orta have done to their credit is to let bielsa dictate how the club is run completely from a football perspective, including training infrastructure etc. What we have at Leeds is a little bielsa world created where he has carte Blanche to do what he likes. If we go up, it’s down to bielsa, if we fail it’s because he undershot on the squad make up... but the caveat to that is the board supplying replacements for squad shortfalls in January ... we entered feb last year several players down on August... it wasn’t acceptable. People are concerned it might happen again... especially with form dipping. After the fire sale in the summer I’m sure there’s a few quid to cover a loan or too, this time. Let’s hope they come up with the goods.
Personally I've always supported him. Gave him the benefit of any doubt last January as we signed Kiko and apparently it was his call to the Swansea owner in America which sealed the Daniel James transfer (well sort of). In the summer, he retained Bielsa which was the no'1 priority and then recruited Costa, White and retained Harrison and Jack Clarke. However, it was noted that he funded everything through the sales of Pontus, Roofe and Clarke. Now he has to show his steel and not accept anything less than success, this is his time and he really needs to show leadership...unfortunately all we hear is a deafening silence. It's his money (if he's still got any) so he can choose as he likes. We as fans though will judge him extremely harshly if he doesn't seize this moment. Glorious failure is what we're all about Mr Radrizini...not failing with a whimper.
I still think we could have a lot worse than him in charge, he is always going to be a business man before a fan. I’ve said many times I see him as a stepping stone to clean us up from the sewer Bates, Cellino and GFH left us in. We’re there now, he seems to be having one more season hoping we’re promoted for an even larger pay day. We can all be frustrated with him but we’ve come further under him than anyone else in the last 15 years
