Wigan did the same and the appeal was denied.

However the thing is Derby might actually win their appeal as they had another full season after Wigan with no fans.

Hink its been said before that the job of any businesses board of directors is to show a profit and increase that profit year on year. Any board that fails to do so gets sacked and replaced. ….. yet in football 98% of football businesses run at a loss? Fans dont care because they want the best players they can afford (or not) which means the clubs lose money. Ashley gave enough to run the club properly, and buy the players required to keep them in the Premier league every year earning big bucks. When the manager failed e was given enough to bounce back up and get some parachute money. The real idea that the FA and EFL want to rub football is the Mike Ashley model in reality but the fans wont have it and therein lies the problem.

We all saw what happened at Leeds because of mismanagement and then shyte ownership and now we have a good owner there are fans who demand more

    Spot on Doc.

It's what I've been thinking lately, how many seasons of perceived mid table mediocrity will some fans accept before they start the car park protests ?

We should have a Marcelo Bielsa day every year...lest we forget <laugh>

Seems the new England U21 manager is a complete bell end. 2 games against minnows of world football one win one draw. Tonight we beat Andora ffs just 0-1 after his last performance drawing 2-2. Yet again he has a shyt game plan and doesnt bother to use the Leeds lads again.

The England U20s much better run and relies on Leeds kids for results. Tonight they won 0-5 and rested the Leeds players against minnows. The England U21s are in danger of not qualifying when they usually get to the final, semis or quarter finals. Lee Carsley is useless. Wasn't so long ago we won the World Cup at U20 level which should mean the players available in the U21s should be smashing it. Southgate is a woke ****er and brought his mate Carsley in a few months ago. Great move…not

I think to start with they’re going to have the same type of players as us in their shopping basket.

Fancy being in the easiest group but being 3rd behind Albania ffs. The football has historically been fast flowing attacks, yet this garbage served up in his first two games has been all about a strong defence and possession, but no attacking. Lucky to beat Andorra 0-1 ffs, Andorra ranked hundreds of places behind England. He even managed to throw away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 in his first match against fkg Lithuania

Some of these minnows must have decent youth teams. Liechtenstein managed to lose 11-0 to Portugal on Thursday!

When teams like Andorra whos full International team is part time and have the original butcher and baker and candelstick maker in their ranks. Want to bet that there are no pro players in their U21 team. Our players are part of the top league in the world with the top clubs in the world. A disgrace from Carsley. Litchenstien U21s is full of part time players, a gricer, a butcher etc and expected to get smashed by Portugal 11-0 just like we expected to smash Andorra by at least 10 goals

England U21s have been top of the tree as one of the best teams in the world. Fact

    2021 scored 7 conceded 6
    2020 scored 21 conceded 6
    2019 scored 52 conceded 26
    2018 scored 33 conceded 8
    2017 scored 21 conceded 6
    2016 scored 19 conceded 7

I could do this all the way back to 1977 and the result is that England have scored over 700 goals with around 200 against. I am saying that this is the worst management the U21s have ever had as the above stats clearly show.

Whilst I don't disagree with your sentiment Doc, given that I am the sad kind of person that likes to check facts and figures when someone makes a bold statement, I will within the boundaries set by yourself, offer the following contradictory evidence.

Competitive Games only (summary of friendlies provided)

    1978 5 games played, won 2, lost 1, scored 6 conceded 5
    1980 6 games played, won 2, lost 3, scored 8 conceded 8 (In addition there was a 3-0 win in a friendly)
    1986 5 games played, won 1, lost 1, scored 4 conceded 5 (additional friendly result of 1-1)
    1988 9 games played, won 5, lost 2, scored 14 conceded 13 (2 additional friendlies, resulting in 0-0 and 1-1 draws)
    1992 5 games played, won 0, lost 3, scored 2 conceded 6 (2 additional friendlies , 1-0 win and 2-2 draw)
    1996 7 games played, won 3, lost 3, scored 6 conceded 7 (1 additional friendly, 1-0 defeat)
    2003 6 games played, won 1, lost 3, scored 7 conceded 9 (3 additional friendlies, 1 win and 2 defeats, scoring 3 goals and conceding 6)

I would submit that all of the above are no better than the present teams stats for this year, especially the 2 years highlighted, which shows the u21's winning 1 game out of a total of 11 played competitively.
